Clint Eastwood's Convention Schtick Draws Extreme Criticism
Nationaljournal ^

The reviews continue to pour in on Clint Eastwood’s appearance at the Republican National convention Thursday night, and "mixed" might be a charitable way to put it. One prominent Republican, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, said that he "cringed" at the performance.

An unattributed release from the Romney campaign defended Eastwood, according to The Wall Street Journal: "Judging an American icon like Clint Eastwood through a typical political lens doesn’t work. His ad-libbing was a break from all the political speeches, and the crowd enjoyed it,” the statement read.

An empty chair has now become the symbol of the Obama presidency. Not too bad, Clint. Not too bad.

No, he finally gave Romney what he didn’t have—relevance.

Eastwood was the sage truthsayer. In this case it took an old man to say that the emperor had no clothes.

No--he really didn't. He pointed to the empty suit--the naked emperor--in the Oval Office, the "falso idol" who has "basked" in the worship of so many who are foolish enough to think a "prince" can take the place of God.

The Demoncrats want us to worship their "dear leader", as people in third world countries so often do. Eastwood, a mere man capable of being at once "good, bad and ugly", showed us that there is only One Person who deserves to be worshiped, and He does not "sit" in the Oval Office!

Romney, I believe, cares not a whit about being "worshiped"; but he does want to do what we elect a President to do: Lead!

My prayer--earnest and heartfelt--is that God give him that opportunity, instead of the "naked emperor" and "empty suit" who currently occupies that Office.

If I knew how, I’d post a picture of an empty chair. That banner has to keep flying. Clint was awesome! The MSM is stuck between screaming about a Hollywood insider or protecting their precious little baby-boy O. Loving it!
Plus, has anyone noticed that Clint doesn’t feel the need to get in the middle of the media’s whine-fest to “clarify” anything? In fact, I’m not sure any media-bots have even approached him...

BWAAAAAAH!!!

I enjoyed the speech, because it wasn’t your usual political nonsense your used to hearing, it was something straight from the heart, no script, just straight talk..and the chair routine was HILARIOUS because it described Obama perfectly, an empty chair = empty suit, it was GREAT

. He TOTALLY took the air out of Romney’s speech and anything else Romney. And forever labeled Obama as an empty chair.

Only a few million people watched the convention. OTOH millions are hearing the messages from Clint via Youtubes, twitters etc. Such statements as: “24 million people out of jobs”, and “When somebody can’t do the job we gotta let ‘em go” or “You don’t have to vote for somebody just because..”

So you see, this is really a very good thing in the end. All the media talking about Clint instead of destroying Romney. Meanwhile Mitt is going to Louisiana and Obama is in a panic having to follow him.

And now we have tons of different pics of chairs to associate with dear leader. Maybe there will be a first prize for the best invisible prez in the chair.

The way things are going, I would not be surprised if Romney is our President the following election morning. I would not be surprised if Obama gets a second term. It is such a weird time for America. I mean after 2008, nothing surprises me. We have had 3 very weird election cycles (Presidency). Gore almost winning 2000, Kerry getting uncomfortably close and Obama actually winning. Three very weak Democratic people and they won or almost won. We are living in a very weird time.

The way you beat a Cult for Personality canidate like Obama is with ridcuale and scorn.

You are absolutely right. One of my prayers has been that after Obama is defeated, he would never again have a platform from which to spread his evil ideas. Public humiliation and making him the laughingstock of American politics is very effective.

No, speaking in primetime before Romney was the prime spot, and it only amplified Clint’s message. Perfect.

SNL will come to the rescue of the Obama goons. And that concerns me. I do relish seeing a reenactment of Clint, however, cuz they’ll make fools of themselves trying.

Some of you anti-Romney folks are really sore losers. In that department, you put even Al Gore to shame.

You couldn’t hack it by finding a decent candidate to run against Romney, and now you want to blame everyone else for your own failure. And in that department, you put even Obama to shame.
