Newsweek Ceasing Publication - Over 200 Readers Affected
Big Hairy News ^ | October 18, 2012 | Scooter Van Neuter

Newsweek magazine announced today that it will cease publication at the end of the year.

The magazine, published since 1933, has experienced a sharp decline in readership - roughly proportionate to its increasingly hard left editorial bent. There is no word how this move will affect Newsweek's roughly 225 subscribers.

One positive aspect of the move is that President Obama and first lady Michelle will now have more free time, thanks to not having to pose for monthly Newsweek cover story photos.

Indeed. And every idle word will come into judgment.

Satire giveaway was the hugely exaggerated readership number. Newsweak hasn’t had 200 subscribers in years!

Now, Kevao, you have to remember all the public university libraries that subscribed to multiple copies...

Not satire. They’re ending physical publication.

Satire and fact are indistinguishable.

True satire is grounded in elements of fact. In this case, the basic premise is factual, but there are undeniable satirical aspects to this Big Hairy "news story" that you can easily see with a second glance, perhaps.

I'd like to see a photoshop of the Newsweek "We Are All Socialists Now" cover that said "We Are All Unemployed Now."

Good riddance.
