The logical continuation of this pro-Sunni strategy would be to allow Egypt, the Saudis, and the Turks to pursue nuclear weapons. The US appeasers already know they can’t stop Iran from getting them, so in their naive worldview, a ‘MAD’ balance of terror (including India and Pakistan) would develop in the ‘enlightened’ multipolar post-American century.
Thank you. I can see how that was a factor.. but as someone who was a news junky throughout the Cold War I can't help wondering..
who was the major beneficiary of destroying the secret weapons supply chain to Syrian rebels? (If that what it was.)
Who are experts with tons of experience with things like getting Americans killed or -- in the case of the USS Scorpion and the 99 crewmen -- killing the Americans directly?
Who are the experts at throwing Washington into turmoil? Even when Washington was run by adults.. not the radical, spoiled brats stuck on an imaginary campus somewhere.

This whole thing just gets more and more bizarre.
He has show that in his dealings with Israel, his promises to us 4 years ago, etc.
I suspect that the US through the CIA, backed down on some promise they had made the Islamics and suffered the consequences.
There is also, of course, the good chance that the group that attacked the embassy were sent by either Russia or Syria as payback for sending weapons and men to fight in Syria.
But it is apparent that saying the ambassador was their to retrieve weapons given to the militias to fight Gaddafi is a cover-up lie.
His mission was probably to see that those weapons were gathered up and put in the same shipments as the new stuff we were sending to the rebels in Syria.
Regardless of which of the above is the most accurate, it is obvious that obumbler has again made a fool of himself.
But even so, the bigger issue is: What is obumbler’s ultimate plan for that area?
To me it seems obvious that his ultimate goal is to make the Muslim Brotherhood the dominate power throughout the area.....and the certainty of the Caliphate.
I know the difference between there and their.

I went to your July 2011 story link and, oh my goodness! What I read in it was a kernal or sort of template for the “blame the video” cover story, here it said:
The US State Department on Monday formally condemned Syria for failing to protect the US embassy complex in Damascus from a violent assault it said was encouraged by a pro-government Syrian television station.
“A television station that is heavily influenced by Syrian authorities encouraged this violent demonstration,” a State Department spokesperson said in a statement.”
Tweak that and voila! TV and video and free speech are the causes of all violence therefore. We know where that goes.
Yes that is true. There were loads of Soviet influence in the Middle East during the Cold War -- and Putin continues it today -- even though Russia has its own troubles with Islamists.
