It only took a couple of days after the rejection of their most recent manufactured candidate for GOP-elites to start wildly groping for their next manufactured candidate to keep the conservative wing of the party at bay. And whose name pops up? Another George Bush. Imagine that.
Not that George P. Bush seems like such a bad guy. I'm sure he's quite nice, really. He's photogenic, well-spoken, and, wouldn't you know it, Hispanic, too. What a great fit for the future of the GOP-elite. When you consider his family's history of using the conservative wing of the GOP like a two-dollar whore to advance themselves, he sounds like exactly the sort of candidate we can expect to get shoved down our throats in the near future.
No one can talk conservative while expanding government as effectively as the Bushes. Bush 41 made sure to sell himself as the continuation of the Reagan Revolution, only to spend the bulk of his four years in office pursuing a globalist agenda, and defenestrating the ideology that made Reagan succeed. On the heels of Ronald Reagan, the GOP could have gotten a chef salad elected president in 1988. One has to wonder how anyone could squander the success of Ronald Reagan any more efficiently than did Bush 41. Hard to imagine topping that act, but his son sure did.
W squeaked into office after winning a contest against Al Gore, who we have come to realize is one of the most unpalatable potential leaders possibly ever to run for the White House. Against the backdrop of Al Gore's unhinged emotional outbursts and childlike sense of entitlement to the office of President, W looked downright Presidential. He looked decisive and cool under fire and, we were assured, was far to the right of his father. We saw how accurate that was when he backed the monstrous government intervention into the free market we know as TARP, and thereby sealed his legacy and, in the bargain labelled the entire GOP as big-government conservatives, whatever the hell that means.
We don't need another Bush. George P. Bush may be a great guy, but I've had about a bellyful of the Bush family wiping their butts with the vision and ideals of the conservative wing of the GOP. No mas, por favor. No mas.
None other than the CBC was already talking about a possible Jeb Bush run next on right in election night.
What about no more stupid articles?
I just have to believe that in a nation of 300 million people, we can find a standard bearer who is an actual conservative. That would also imply that the person not be named Bush, since the Bushes only TALK conservative to get elected. They govern like big-government statists.

A winning Conservative candidate MUST be able AND WILLING to take on the press like Reagan did.
You will never get another win pushing up Milk Toast Moderates AND LIBS.

Forget TV clips, do any of you personally know many Dims who are EXCITED about Obama’s reelection?
Many Dims would vote Republican if Republicans put up a half way decent candidate.
This thinking that we need to put a lib to run against a BETTER lib is complete ignorance.
Think about this.
I like Dennis Kucinich.
Would I vote for him? HELL NO.
But he means what he says and says what he means... I like that..... and so do other people.
Put up a candidate that can do that and we’ll get plenty of cross over votes.
Ron Paul has some of that character and he was a sure fire winner that got way layed

Romney did that during the first debate and Glenn Beck and others SWOONED over Romney.

The Liberal Republicans seriously want a Liberal Republican president.
But they will readily settle for a Liberal Democrat president over a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT.... every time.
Without it, limp wristing wins nothing, and the media, which is the actual rat party, the politicians being an extension therof, will eat them up whole.
How about a Nixon? When’s the last time the Repubs won the presidency without a Bush or a Nixon somewhere at the top of the ticket?

I disagree with the article on that point. The GOP brand was a little bruised in 88. Nothing like the toxic levels of 2008, but between the Savings and Loans scandals, questions about H.W.’s role (if any) in Iran-Contra, and some other issues, a GOP win was anything but certain in 88. Had the DNC run a southern Democrat (or pretty much anyone else but Mike “The Human Punching Bag” Dukakis), it would have been a close race, IMHO.
I agree, though, that H.W. moved away from Reagan’s principles on domestic policy at warp speed. He never really believed in them anyway, if one remembers the 1980 primaries.
I’d still take him in a heartbeat over Obama, of course.

Why not examine what the guy actually thinks and believes?
Look at what he says and actually DOES.
It looks like he’s going for Texas office of some kind ... fine ... let’s see what he actually does in government before he’s rejected out of hand.
Looking at his educational path, it’s certainly different from the other Bushes ... Rice and the University of Texas Law School. Both are excellent programs, and not part of the Ivy League world and all the connections that brings. Who knows???
I’m willing to watch and wait and see what he says and does. If he gets into office and serves ably and holds solid positions and articulates a vision and agenda with which I — as a Conservative — can agree ... and if he serves at the National Level (House or Senate) and has a good Conservative Voting Record ... WHO KNOWS? Just because he’s a “Bush” doesn’t mean that, by 2024 or 2028 he won’t be a possible contender for the Presidency.
And, who knows, perhaps by 2024 the Democrats will have stopped claiming all their messes on GWB.
First time I saw him, he seemed like a sensible young man.
Hate on the Bushes, but this man seems pretty sincere.

He cannot be President because his mother was a Mexican citizen when he was born in 1976, as she did not naturalize as a U.S. citizen until 1985 - or so I have read.

People are getting really squishy on the natural born citizen requirement, aren’t they.
Some can throw their tomatoes at me if they wish, but I actually liked George W. Bush. He did some things that were big government and I used to yell at him to use his veto pen. I guess he didn’t hear me though. According to Mark Levin, who either had a few conversations with W, or knew someone who had - the only way that W could get the money he wanted for a strong national defense was to sign many of the bills that the libs put in front of him.
Remember, the Ds controlled Congress from 2007 on. Bush loved the country and the military, which is more than the POS in the WH does.
I also believe W was a good, decent man and had a really wacky sense of humor. Has anyone heard an ounce of humor coming from zero? I can’t even stand to listen to his voice or look at him - I detest him so much.
Its still a free country, and Jeb’s son sounds like a fine young man. I think we here on FR have become way too jaded. He has a right to run for office if he wants, and from what I understand its a seat in TX. Not a national one.
Good lands, give the guy a chance. I’m more sick of the Clinton’s name. Aren’t they ready to retire yet? One can only hope.

Frankly, I believe the above information to be nonsense. No way will BHO2 allow the developement of further fossil fuel resources.
But seeking more terms as President? Sure, why not. He’s arrogant enough.
My only dissatisfaction with the young George P. Bush is that he refers to himself as an Hispanic American, rather than just American.
Someone has perhaps counseled him to say that, and it is unwise advice IMHO.
His mother is Hispanic. Doesn’t that make him 1/2 Hispanic? I’m sick of these hybrid names - African-American, Hispanic-American, etc. Aren’t we all just Americans? Not the illegals, of course,

Sure. But my greatgrandmother was listed on the 1900 census as colored, so does that make me African American? No.
There are many people in this nation who are proud of their ancestor’s home country. I’ve heard people on television describe themselves as Italian American or Polish Ameican or Chinese American, and I suppose it serves a purpose for the individual using that name. In the end, though, I suspect it has a balkanizing effort on American politics, serving to drive us apart rather than uniting us.
That is particularly true of Hispanics in this country, for that is the ultimate aim of the very racist organizations like MeCha or La Raza. Their goal is to split off part of the United States and create a seperate nation, Aztlan.
George P. Bush has claimed to be a “moderate” Republican, and as he is just starting on his politcal career he has a great deal to learn. Calling himself Hispanic American may have a benefit in Texas, but in the wider American picture it is “not smart”.
