Citizens in 15 states file petitions to secede from United States
The Examiner ^ | November 11, 2012 | Joe Newby

Posted on 11/11/2012 10:00:45 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

As a result of Tuesday's election, Americans in 15 states have filed petitions to secede from the United States, Regina Conley reported at Red Alert Politics on Saturday.

So far, she says, residents in Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, New Jersey and ten other states, have filed petitions at the White House petition site requesting secession. A petition for New York to secede was file by "C R" of Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday.

Examiner's Sheila Carroll says those other states include Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Oregon.

On November 7, the day after the election, "Michael E" from Slidell, Louisiana, filed a petition at the White House "We the People" site, requesting that Louisiana be allowed to secede...

I live in Ohio and I am not at all interested in Succession.

Instead I would like a huge load of cement blocks and mortar.

I want some volunteers to help me build a wall around Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus.

They can be their own little city states and they can leave the rest of us Red State Ohioans alone.

It is up to the lesser magistrates -/governors, state attorney generals, state reps and senators, county sheriffs, to protect us from the feds. They have the power to get us out of contracts and also to kick them out of the state, legally.

I chased the links from source to source and found only the same article, word for word. Looking harder, I couldn't find any reference to any petition in North Dakota, only that someone named "CF" in Grand Forks, ND had allegedly filed such a petition for New York...

Which brings up a thought.

How about filing petitions to kick the blue States out and let them find a new name, Leaving America to continue without their BS?

If the majority of states voted to give the few which elected Duh-1 the boot (Or at least the regions thereof), would that be Constitutional (and they can take their debt and parasites with them).

PS:No offense intended to the Conservatives behind 'enemy' lines.

Canada is an amalgam of post-monarchy commonwealth with decidedly American (Frontier era) overtones, palimpset by eurosocialism lite.

I doubt they would tolerate the whining American Liberal Socialists well.

At least most of the Canadians I know wouldn't.

They work for a living, are productive, and are the salt of the Canadian resource-based economy which has been gaining in strength and rolling back their 'socialist experiment' while our American 'blue zones' slide further into the Marxist abyss, trying to drag the rest of us with them.

The people signing the petitions to secede from the United States should instead surrender their U.S. citizenship and leave our states to be defended by Patriots who don’t cut and run.

This country was founded by people who cut and ran from their former homelands.

‘you and others have not yet even begun to try much less exhause a plethora of Constitutional means to restore the rule of law in the United States.’
What constitutional means?
There is no more constitution !! -
1. a usurper is occupying the office of the president illegally
2. a constitutionally ineligible person is allowed to be the presidential contender a second time, AND, steal the election a second time
3. unconstitutional obamacare is validated by the Supreme Court who no longer rules strictly according to the constitution
4. Current Taxation (of the individuals) is NOT constitutional - tax is supposed to be apportioned to the states, not to individuals
5. all entitlement programs (medicare, medicaid, social security etc.) are unconstitutional - the fed gov’s role is limited, and it has no constitutional right to redistribute fruits of our labor....

We can all keep burying our heads in the sand and be law-abiding to eternity. The soetoro and gang will simply laugh their a**** off.

The GOP forever plays ‘nice’, so nice that they, without a beep, let them steal the elections with unbelievable voter fraud.

The Republicans congress is forever so nice that they forever compromise with the dems at the expense of their own principles (whatever that is left)

All 3 branches of gov are not upholding the constitution.
When they who represent We the people throw the Constitution out the window, what constitutional measures can we take?

Perhaps secession is not the way. We don’t know yet. But what is?
Don’t you think -
States must reclaim their rights, by nullification or other means, even secession, which, by the way, is a constitutional means.
Indidviduals can support their states.

In a war, can we just play by the rules when the enemies have no rule whatsoever? (Example, look at soetoro’s ‘rules of engagement’ - our soldiers obey the rules while the enemies laugh as they kill them )

We are literally at war! We will forever lose if we don’t level the playing field!
If we want to win we have to draw the lines -

The Constitution won’t be worth toilet paper once Obama appoints 4 or 5 out of 9 justices on the Supreme Court. It’s barely worth that now.

“There is a lawful means by which a State may join and leave the union with the United States of America. None of these so-called petitions remotely complies with such Consitutional niceties.”

That is incorrect. There is nowhere in the Constitution whereby a State can leave the Union.

In fact, many would say that the Supreme Court decision in Texas vs. White made it clear: “In accepting original jurisdiction, the court ruled that Texas had remained a state ever since it first joined the Union, despite its joining the Confederate States of America and its being under military rule at the time of the decision in the case. In deciding the merits of the bond issue, the court further held that the Constitution did not permit states to unilaterally secede from the United States, and that the ordinances of secession, and all the acts of the legislatures within seceding states intended to give effect to such ordinances, were “absolutely null”.”

-- So the way its going, looks like all 50 states want to secede, now what's that called again. Oh yes, the United States. --

Actually, it would be independent states, not united ones. Think "pre confederacy" and not the 1860's one. Immediately after the american revolution was successfully prosecuted, there was no united states. The states bound together in a confederacy.

A collapse of the federal government does not mean the collapse of 50 states.

The federal government has worked itself into an unsustainable position. It will fail.

If all the states seceded - then the productive states may choose to re-affiliate. I seriously doubt that States like California, NY, and Mass would be allowed into the any group containing Texas, LA, Miss, Alabama, and Georgia. And given the nature of the “gun control” laws in these states, California and Mass would be too chicken to join in anyway (not to mention the likely “no free handouts” policy).

Don’t be absurd. Renouncing our citizenship would be like saying, “If we can’t win every election, then we will just take our ball an go home.” How is that going to gain conservatism any support? I believe we can re-take the government through elections in 2016. THAT is the way to win, not stomping angrily away from the country we say we love, acting like sore losers. Let’s just get back into the fight until we win.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.
That definition presupposes a united states in the first place, and an attempt to takeover ALL of them.

But, even if secession was treason, so what? The point is that those signing secession petitions view the federal government "dimly." If objection to the federal government is treason, well, then treason it is. Let the government wage war against its own people then.

Unfortunatley, we may have to go through those conditions again to set the stage for a new Reagan/Thatcher revolution.

You have to remember that this nation has already had one president for life -- Roosevelt. And it happened precisely because he was willing to hand out free stuff in hard times that he first took advantage of then worked to perpetuate however unwittingly.

Obama and Reid intend to provoke crisis so they can ride in and save the day. The more people depend on the government the more power they will give that government.

Secession or not, the only way out of this mess is to stop letting parasites vote. If you aren't working, don't own anything and are on the dole, you aren't a citizen you are a parasite.

And now the parasites own the federal government and outnumber the citizens. The only bright spots are the state governments the parasites overlooked.

The people submitting these petitions, however misguided they may be, grasp that. People sitting out elections at home waiting for a conservative candidate to swoop in and rescue them are the delusional ones.

It won't get real legs. The feds will allow the discontent to be expressed, as venting of discontent is an essential part of maintaining control, while giving the illusion of freedom.

There are plenty of microcosms as examples of failure of a state to have its own way, where states try to assert superiority over the feds, for example, drug policy. The feds always win, they have superior firepower.

The federal government has worked itself into an unsustainable position. It will fail.

These folks are stuck in 1980, waiting for Reagan.

What happens when Reid and Obama or their successors can't keep the house of cards up anymore? Greece is just the beginning of that.

Look at Sarajevo. Two very different populations living together when the rule of law fails. Think of a red suburban area a couple of miles from a blue inner city when the EBT card doesn't light up anymore.

Reid wants $2.4 trillion more now. There is no indication either he or Obama has a clue what they are doing or they think no matter how bad it gets they can stay ahead of it with freebees.

History says otherwise.

The feds obtain their revenue via taxing individuals and corporations. I don't know of any payments by states, to the feds.

It really is like the borg.

It is possible for the federal government to run the country into the ground. It's been working at that for decades.

The elites are indifferent whether they lord over successful people, or serfs. I'd bet they prefer to lord over serfs, the dumber, the better.

I have long feared this day, the days of dissolving American Union.

Yet now that we are almost there, I welcome it. People say the slow march towards socialism will require an ever slower march back.

The Problem is that we are in an abusive relationship with the Blue States and Federal Government and they will NEVER leave us alone.

We must solve our problems on a local level and that means it is time for a National Divorce.

We should all just go our separate ways and be done with it.

I spent over ten years in Colorado. Voted conservative, mostly Republican, in most elections. Even got to vote for the Colorado gubernatorial candidate as a delegate to the Republican state convention.

I had to come back to California as the jobs in Colorado were drying up and my family needed me.

It is nice being close to friends, half of whom are solid conservatives and Republican, and don't mind gutting it out in California.

My experience in Colorado was a bit depressing when it came to politics, although everything else about Colorado was a blast.

There were candidates that pretended to be conservative in the primaries, but were just in it for the fame/fortune. The truly conservative candidates that won the primaries had a hard time winning in the main election. Even a few years ago there were just too many Democrats, moderate Republicans, and moderate independents.

There was a group of cantankerous individualists, but they were no match for the hoards of locusts that built up covenanted communities all around them and then eventually squeezed them out. One-by-one the gun ranges became tract home communities with all sorts of nannyish rules that had to be followed: no parking on the street, fines for not keeping your front yard in pristine condition, but no one cared if your neighbor's backyard was full of weeds descending on your property. It was all about curb appeal.

When I got there when Colorado was still nominally Republican, every city had its own multimillion dollar rec center. What does a city need with a rec center when there are a score of private companies in the exercise gym business? There was definitely a sense that people in town expected more of their government than is healthy, while the hermits lived out of town hoping against hope that the plague of houses wouldn't reach their doorstep.

Even Texas will be a Democrat state within a couple of election cycles. Did you see all the blue on the south Texas election maps?

I'm staying put in the heart of the beast for now. Maybe I can take some stabs at it. Those of you living out near its appendages are safe for now, but not for long I'm afraid.
