I basically agree with your sentiments. I believe you can leave this formerly great, now disgraceful nation without physically leaving. A version of "going Galt" suffices. Get under the radar, get yourself well-stocked, well-armed, and prepared for collapse, and then hunker down and make yourself comfortable. No point in not having fun.

Also (and this is where many people take issue) find ways to GET BACK as much of the tax dollars you have dumped down the government toilet and the parasites' mouths as you possible can. SSDI is a popular scam these days, and there are plenty of scumbag lawyers to help you navigate the government bureaucracy. Maybe you are losing your eyesight and can't work? Maybe you "twisted your back"? Maybe you have painful arthritis? Heck, I think you can even get SSDI if you are an alcoholic or drug abuser... Whatever. This government and the Democrats running it depend on creating and supporting as many parasites as possible - - so pretend to be one.

If you have college students living away from home, get them on food stamps ASAP. I hear that's a breeze. Study the parasites and game "the system". GET BACK what you can before the Democrat parasites gobble it all up. DO NOT worry about shame or pride or any of that nonsense - - the enemy sure doesn't. This is war, and we didn't start it.

Good luck everybody.

I have been watching some of the “Prepper” series on Nat.Geo.
While I admire their effort, they are really taking a leap of faith thinking that the disaster that they are preparing for will be the one that hits them.
Each type of disaster requires different preps.
There is no one size fits all.

can anyone really seriously leave children and grandchildren behind?....nieces?..nephews?...elderly parents?....sisters?...brothers?....

I left all of those behind when I moved my wife and kids to Texas from California seven years ago.

My grandfathers before me did the same thing, when they moved their own wives and children from the Deep South to California, during WWII. Generations before that, some of my ancestors packed up and left Scotland and the British Isles to seek a better life in the American colonies.

Trends are again pushing families to migrate in patterns that reflect political, cultural, and economic realities.

****** “I was born here, and my great grand whatever was here and helped toss the Brits out. “ *******

My Great Grand whatever was a Hessian Soldier and decided to stay, he was a Slave (yeah I have more Slave Blood than Obama) I have a copy of the “Wanted” Poster that decreed that everything that he owned and everything that his Family (Father, Mother, Brothers and Sisters) owned would be confiscated unless he returned and faced his punishment...

Really wasn’t that long ago and whoops... seems like we are heading in that direction again.

Seems like Jefferson was right (and Franklin).

Freedom, if you want to keep it, you have to defend it.

PS

Please watch the vid on my Tag ... it needs to go Viral. Yeah it’s long but I have already gotten 2 LIBS to re-think (or Start Thinking) and they they go wow and yeah and we “never thought about it that way”

my quandary, if the Supreme Court refuses to uphold the Constituion, why bother staying?

You have an ancestor who delivered despatches to General Washington, and you don't know the answer to that question?

Your ancestor took a bullet because of his belief in the principles which gave birth to this nation. He didn't flee when confronted with evil in government. He fought back. If he and thousands of other good patriots had all fled when tyranny raised its head, we'd still be a British colony today.

Freedom and liberty are not guaranteed. The black robed servants of the ruling class will never defend your God-given rights. Only you can do that, by asserting them. Demanding them. Fighting for them, if need be.

“So tell me...do you have a job or savings accounts based in the Philippines or do you rely on income sent monthly from the USA in order for you to live your “1000 dollar” a month lifestyle?”
________________________________________________

I do not spend $1000 per month here. I could survive here on NO social security money, and I have a wife and child, and no, I do not have a job here.
How good is life in America for a family of three on $1000 per month?
Many workers here live on a wage of $4 or less, per DAY.

Social Security is obligated to pay back funds that we paid in during our working years, and not dependent on where we live.
They have a very large staff at the US embassy here.
My social security is in my Philippine bank on the forth of each month, like clockwork.

I think that's fake

I would would bet they all are preparing for an economic collapse, but the producers just give them all different scenarios just for variety, to make them look a little bit nuttier and to protect Obama (Notice they never show anybody mentioning him)

"Where would I go, anyway?"

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is pretty much a foreign country. You don't need a passport to get there.

Yet.

well at least we can say it took 400 years for idiots here to think socialism is so damn awesome. other places have done the cycles dozens of times (France, ahem) and we’re going to do it once since 1620 and Miles Standish said screw communtarianism, we have to reward people for their work, and it only took a year to throw it out then - of course it was a literal matter of that or all of them starving to death.

Russia yes.....

Weird as it sounds
Yes it will need a bit of house cleaning but i already like Pravda better than most US news in 2013

We are living the browning of the West and it looks grim
Likely the last refuge for serious white folks

looking that way anyhow

The reverse trek back across the steppes from whence we all came quite long ago

“I think that’s fake “

I think all of these so called reality shows on Natl.Geo, and especially on History Channel, are fake.
There are even internet forums to discuss their fakery.

You don't want to be stuck in or adjacent to a big city anywhere in the world, but I think larger cities in this country could be even worse than in the third world, because those people retain some familiarity with scarcity and living in primitive conditions.

Spot on.
Most American cities ARE the third world.

Just read what happened when the currencies of Austria and Germany collapsed during the Weimar Republic's hyperinflation.

A good roadmap for where we are headed is something like what happened to Weimar Germany. The background was a bit different, but the path ahead is the same, albeit on a global scale this time.

Anyone who doubts it needs to read the brilliant book, "When Money Dies" by Adam Fergusson.

You can click on the book below to get it from Amazon:

You are in luck... it appears that you can still read it or download it for free online here and only here:

When Money Dies: The Nightmare of the Weimar Collapse

This book was out of print for a while, but now is being reissued. If you are interested, I suggest you grab the free e-book above while it lasts, as it will likely soon disappear since the book has gone back into print.

:)

Of course you can always buy a bookshelf copy from Amazon as it's cheap enough.
