Al Gore’s employee’s a bit upset over the sale of Current TV to Big Oil
Flopping Aces ^ | 01-08-13 | Curt

Posted on 01/08/2013 5:25:30 PM PST by Starman417

It's nice to see a progressive admit that their old hero is a hypocrite:

Yesterday morning, the still shell shocked staff at Current TV was called to an all hands staff meeting at its San Francisco headquarters, which was teleconferenced to their offices in LA and NYC, to meet their new bosses.

That would be two of Al Jazeera’s top guys: Ehab Al Shihabi, executive director of international operations, and Muftah AlSuwaidan, general manager of the London bureau.

Ominously missing was the creator of Current, the self proclaimed inventor of the Internet and savior of clean energy, Al Gore, although his partner, Joel Hyatt, stood proudly with the Al Jazeera honchos.

“Of course Al didn’t show up,” said one high placed Current staffer. “He has no credibility.

“He’s supposed to be the face of clean energy and just sold [the channel] to very big oil, the emir of Qatar! Current never even took big oil advertising—and Al Gore, that bulls***ter sells to the emir?”

The meeting, while not contentious, was, according to staffers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, miserable.

The mostly left-leaning group—some still in denial —weren’t buying what Al Jazeera was selling.

And what are they selling? Al Jazeera’s image of —are you ready?— “inform, inspire and entertain!”

Hahahahahaha.....

I'm sorry, I can't help it. These dummies fell for the crap ManBearPig shoveled at them years ago when most everyone knew he was full of crap and now they are a tad upset.

Oh wait a minute, I guess they aren't:

Though the deal’s been widely criticized on the right, most of my progressive friends have a more tolerant attitude towards the transaction: “After what happened to him,” in the recount of 2000, one friend remarked, “I’d forgive him almost anything.”A politically active environmentalist, too, was taking the news in stride: “I don’t think the community is too upset,” he said. “My personal sense is he got a good deal.”

Hypocrisy...thy name is progressive.

The silver lining here is, Algore’s reputation as the climate change czar is gone. He’s now a greedy “consultant” to a Middle Eastern “BIG oil” state. Go Al! Gotta love those big bucks Bubba!

Thinking back... I can not think of any other “event” that is more hypocritical than this....

owlGore fundamentally changed this country by pushing his global warming bull chit.... Affected our lives in negative ways for generations to come....cost us billions of dollars...

Almost every aspect of our lives in some form or fashion is tied into some bull chit regulation or policy dealing with this nonsense....

owlGore in my book should be tried for treason but instead walks away with millions and is a complete sell out...

Bob Beckle telling Bill O’Reilly that Joel Hyatt is a ‘conservative’ businessman.

Gotta be kidding me. Hyatt is slimeball socialist howard metzenbaum's crooked psychopath son in law.

Joel Z. Hyatt (born Joel Hyatt Zylberberg; 1950) is a prominent businessman and former attorney and American politician of the Democratic party. He is the founder of Hyatt Legal Services, and was featured in the law firm’s television commercials speaking the slogan, “I’m Joel Hyatt and you have my word on it.” Hyatt is also the co-founder of Current TV.

Hyatt graduated from Dartmouth College and Yale Law School. He briefly practiced law as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
Hyatt co-founded Hyatt Legal Services in 1977 as a low-cost legal service and later founded Hyatt Legal Plans, which became the country’s largest provider of employer-sponsored group legal services. Hyatt Legal Plans was acquired by MetLife in 1997.

Hyatt was a founding member of the U.S. Senate Democratic Leadership Circle and was a member of that group from 1981 to 1986. He was the Democratic National Committee’s assistant treasurer from 1981 to 1983.
He is the son-in-law of former U.S. Sen. Howard Metzenbaum and in 1994, when Metzenbaum decided to retire from the Senate, Hyatt ran to replace him. Hyatt won the Democratic nomination, but lost to then Ohio Lt. Gov. R. Michael DeWine in the general election.

Hyatt was appointed to the California Public Utilities Commission in June 1999, by Governor Gray Davis. He served six months of a six-year term, resigning in December 1999.

Hyatt served as National Finance Chair for the Democratic party in 2000, and is a business partner of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore In 2004, Hyatt and Gore purchased Newsworld International, a cable news channel, programmed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, which aired news programming from around the world. On August 1, 2005, Gore and Hyatt relaunched the network as Current TV, a young adult-programmed news and information service which pioneered the concept of user generated content on cable TV.

Hyatt taught entrepreneurship at Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 1998 to 2003. He is a member of the board of trustees of Morehouse College and of The Brookings Institution. Hyatt was elected to the board of directors of Hewlett-Packard Company in May 2007.
In 1990, Hyatt Legal Services paid a $157,000 judgment for illegally firing an attorney in their Philadelphia offices, Clarence B. Cain, because of his AIDS diagnosis. This case became the basis for the 1993 Tom Hanks film Philadelphia.

Yeah, Pot, Kettle, Kettle, Pot. Al has no credibility, but he has never had any credibility, and anyone who cashed their paychecks from him never had any, either.

BTW, an overdue "Thank You" from me to Al Gore, for doing more in one day to undermine the very demagoguery that helped make him wealthy than the last five years of damning studies, email scandals, exposés, and public pantsings had done. It's not exactly Truman vs the Pendergast machine, but I do love the expressions on the faces of our luddite leftist enemies.

Joel Hyatt

Joel Hyatt, just so you know, is the son-in-law of the late senator from Ohio, Howard Metzenbaum

Metzenbaum served as the Secretary of the National Lawyers Guild. This organization was launched in 1936 as a spin-off of the International Labor Defense, a Communist front started in 1925 as the U.S. branch of the International Red Aid, a worldwide Soviet-backed group founded in 1922.

In 1940. the NLG President. Russell N. Chase, was also the attorney for the Communist Party USA in Metzenbaum's home state of Ohio.

Metzenbaum was one of three "incorporators" of the Ohio School of Social Science in 1944 and later served as its Treasurer. This school was founded in Cleveland by the Communist Party USA to train operatives, recruit new party members and "indoctrinate Communists and outsiders in the theory and practice of Communism." according to the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee.

It was labeled "a Communist adjunct" by Tom Clark, Attorney General during the Truman Administration.

I wonder if the ‘News producer’ poached from CNN is going to stay too?!
He already has experience promoting propaganda as news after working for MSNBC, CNN, ABC & NBC....

August 2011

With Rosenthal gone, Current announced earlier this week that it was hiring longtime TV news producer David Bohrman as network president, where his task will include building a programming slate around Keith

Olbermann’s prime-time news show. Bohrman will report to Hyatt.

Bohrman was poached from CNN, where he’d spent over a decade, most recently as the network’s Washington bureau chief. Before that, he held top producing spots at MSNBC, ABC News, and NBC News. It’s worth noting, of course, that while Hyatt has a background in business, politics, and law, and Bohrman has extensive experience as a news producer, neither has the broader TV programming background of Rosenthal. But Hyatt says that as the network sought to more aggressively build up its news program, “all roads led to Bohrman. . . . He is considered to be the best in the business. ”

“I’d forgive him (or her) almost anything.”

These sentiments apply to Gore, the Clintons and the Obamas.

What is it with liberals? At least this was an honest comment.

“They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, “ Romans 1:25 NLT

Gore comes by his wealth through ties his father had with Occidental Petroleum, CEO, and Soviet agent of influence, Armand Hammer. He has been living a lie, supported by media, since adulthood. Plus, he’s creepy.

“"After what happened to him,in the recount of 2000..."

Someday a true investigative journalist will detail what really happened when Gore's team hired a PR firm to do mass calling and intimidate voters in hope of turning the election only to have it backfire. But, then how they managed the media into making it look like an effort on Bush's part when they demanded a recount.
