Heroes make the world go around. They give us inspiration and a reason to become better, to overcome obstacles. However even in movies and books, heroes are human too, prone to the same flaws.

The problem with Teo is that he is religious and a decent student and person not unlike Mitt Romney.
Romney’s big pre 21 crime was cutting off someones hair. Obama did cocaine and many other things too numerous to mention.
Ray Lewis (baltimore ravens) gets a free pass even though he is in some way connected to a buckhead Atlanta murder.
Teo is a bum for being involved with an imaginary girl friend.
Manti Te’o is a perfect fit for today’s America going along with “Real Housewives of Rio Linda”, all other “Reality” shows, Lance Armstrong and Barrack Obama.

I found him very believable but anyone’s opinion outside the case is really irrelevant. There are going to be a lot of people looking very closely into this from now until draft day.
Let me see if I’ve got this right. The guy was in a three year online relationship with someone he had never met. Meanwhile, he’s a star athlete in college, and, assuming he was faithful, has had to pass up all sorts of willing and attractive dating opportunities. Star college athletes don’t exactly have difficulty getting dates. If that was the case, the relationship had to be deeply important to him.
So, here’s what I want to know — if his online relationship was so important, so deep, and so intense, why didn’t they ever talk over Skype, Facetime, or any number of other webcam-based programs? This isn’t exactly the ‘90s. Webcams are cheap, common, and work well. I’m sure “Lennay” might have made excuses but come on. There’s no way you can make excuses as to why you can’t go on webcam for three years without raising some suspicions.

He found out before Christmas that the story was a hoax - yet days later, he was still talking to the media about the non-existent girlfriend’s death, exploiting it for all it was worth.
Yes he is a liar, and a stupid one at that.
The simpliest explaination is usually the correct one.
“Simple” tells me this guy knew this was a hoax, at least at some point long before 3 years had expired. Why, now that’s a bit more complicated, but back to “simpliest”, he obvilously has some issues with real females.
If indeed he is devoutly religious, maybe the pretend kept the virgin teasing at bay.

He willingly went along with the story. I’m an Aggie, and I am just so glad Manti didn’t get the Heisman! He obviously wasn’t the best player. Notre Dame had to exploit this because Manti couldn’t compete athletcally with Johnny Manziel.
At least A&M’s marketing campaign was just showing Johnny Football play.
I do not like Notre Dame, and I am very happy Alabama trounced them!
