Are you aware of how the siege at Waco started? I don’t want to be standing up for the government here, but let’s at least keep our history straight.
Four ATF agents (and six Branch Dividians) were killed on February 28th 1993 while attempting to serve a warrant. That was the gunfight which lead to the siege.
During the raid itself, 50 days after the intial gunfight, there were conflicting reports between the government and the Branch Dividian survivors over who shot first (and if anyone fired back), but that’s 50 days past the point you should have called your lawyer, surrendered peacefully and had your day in court. If you kill four ATF agents, the government is going to surround your house and get you, dead or alive.
The government was unnecessarily heavy handed in how they handled the situation, given the presence of so many non-combatants, but David Koresh had 50 days to man up and admit playing sex Jesus to teenage girls was a game not worth dying over. He’s nobody we should be emulating, either tactically or philosophically.
OK. I have also heard that he was jogging in the community and that ATF could have at any point in time, arrested him away from the compound.
Yes, and the government was able to prove that it was a "gunfight" with the cars that were parked outside at the time, and the steel entrance door.
Oh, wait - the steel door "disappeared", and the cars were driven over by armored vehicles to "remove cover".
Just read recently that the metal roof that covered the women and children "was destroyed", after the govthugs alleged that there was two-way fire in the assault.
Why did all the stuff that could point a finger "disappear", Steel?
