When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

Posted By Jim Karger On August 13, 2012

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.

And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.

Nice fantasy. It’s not happening.

If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.

The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, ..

All the trends I see going on indicate to me that his goal is a pipe dream. And if the States and Feds did attempt to do so the consequences would be rather negative for them.

When the left tells you they will exterminate 25 million people that can’t be reeducated you better believe them.

FBI Informant Reveals Weather Underground Advocated "Killing 25 Million Americans."
"I asked 'Well what is going to happen to those people that we can't reeducate - that are die hard capitalist?'

And the reply was that they'd have to be eliminated. And when I pursued this further they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers. And when I say eliminate I mean kill ... 25 million people."

As you said, IMR

It was also 25 million after a race/civil war.

those are the same questions we must all ask ourselves. I pray God give me the wisdom and courage to make the right choice.

It’s like Mel Gibson as William Wallace in “Braveheart” told the French princess: “every man dies, but not every man truly lives.” She wanted him to take a drug that would have numbed the pain, he kissed her and spit it out when she left his cell. He knew the torture & death he faced, but took it on bravely. It gets down to intensely personal decisions doesn’t it?

It’s time to start a web site calling out such.

Every NY State legislator who voted for the recent gun bill would go on it immediately, for example.

I think the authors is correct to an extent. I think there’s about a 50/50 chance it’ll break one way or the other: Either the people will capitulate or resist. If just a very small percent resist, EVERYONE will be forced to take sides. That goes for pols, police, military, and Mom and Dad. If a small amount people resist, and all of the military and police obey the tyrant’s orders, the people would still win. The Afghan cave men will have essentially beaten Russia and NATO.

The problem is that the government will do all they can to keep the battle lines from being drawn. They’ll use regulations, the IRS, the EPA, and other covert attacks to marginalize individuals. The states won’t bat an eye, Rand Paul will continue to talk his game, and no body will do anything. If the people are to win, the constitution restored, battle lines must be drawn, and we must draw them.

I can tell you one thing for certain. If they came tomorrow and knocked on my door. I hand over everything I have. I’m not about to leave my family without a husband/ father just to become one more working slob gunned down by the police. But, I would also join a resistance if it met certain criteria. Not sure I’ve defined what that criteria is but I’ll know it when I see it.

San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne is fully supportive of the Obama/Feinstein gun grab, and says if lawmakers play it right Americans can be completely disarmed within “a generation.”

The problem is that they don’t have a generation. The socioeconomic upheaval that’s a coming is, at most, five years off, not a generation.

Here's a question.

How would gun confiscations be reported by today's media, if at all? Would the media report "progress" being made; e.g., "10 million weapons were collected today..." or, would they completely bury it? Would the media show agents going door-to-door? Would they show skirmishes, standoffs, or escalations? What if civilians were shot, lying face-down in their own cold blood? Surely, some of those clips would make it to YouTube...or would they? How would other civilians react, seeing their fellow countrymen, shedding blood?

Rhetorical questions, all.

People simply don’t want to believe it’s possible here in the US because somehow we’re different than other countries where it’s happened.

The left is this country is no different than the left in any other country.

No matter where it is it’s all about absolute power.

They’d have to shut down facebook at the least, and probably the internet.

Attacking low-level grunts may not be the most effective way to stem this tyranny.

Wow, I would have never imagined that we would have to be discussing such scenarios living in the United States of America.

Reagan was right, we WERE only one generation away.

Fight and you may die. Run and you will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our freedom!

Where I live you can sell guns and ammo over the internet classifieds. It means they don’t know who still has the gun they registered and who now owns it. Without a search warrant, how do they “find” the guns of a person who says he sold them years ago?

That's what I was trying to explain to one of my friends the other day. I have guns that I inherited from my father, I have many guns I have bought and traded for with individuals and many more guns that I have legally purchased that I have sold or traded to individuals. If the government did manage to cobble togther a list of firearms I have purchased. The list would be so wrong as to be laughable, it would include many guns that I long ago traded or sold and wouldn't include many other guns that I inherited or bought from individuals. Even if the government "demanded" I tell them who I sold or traded the guns to, I might be able to remember some in the last couple years, but I'm certainly not going to remember back in the 1990's. (Even if I was inclined to tell them in the first place...)

All the local police here, the sheriff, the National Guard and state troopers are local mountain boys and they will not enforce any confiscation order- They will actually protect us here coz everybody knows everybody here and we have control of the local armories here. If the feds try to take the armories it will be another Lexington.

In the words of The Bard:

Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard.
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.

Julius Caesar, Act II Scene II

I may not be among the "valiant", but I will not be counted among the cowards!
