Why should we accept YOUR definition of “actual conservative”?

According to the Birch Society’s “Conservative Index” [now known as Freedom Index], a life-long racist (Sen. James Eastland of Mississippi) scored 96% — which means that, according to the JBS, he was an exemplary political who understood our Constitution and voted appropriately.

Of course, the JBS never mentions that Eastland sought and received KKK support during his re-election campaigns, nor do they mention that the KKK was on the Attorney General’s List of Subversive Organizations....No problem! Eastland was still “a genuine conservative” and “constitutionalist”!!

Incidentally, critics have included such prominent Americans as: Sen. Barry Goldwater, Cong. Walter Judd, Gen. Albert C. Wedemeyer, Russell Kirk, Eugene Lyons, Willmoore Kendall, James Burnham, Robert Bork, J. Edgar Hoover, Herbert Philbrick, Frank S. Meyer, Cong. Gordon H. Scherer, William F. Buckley Jr., Patrick Buchanan, Fred Schwarz, Lee Edwards, the editors of the conservative newspaper, Human Events, George Sokolsky, Roy Cohn, Anthony Bouscaren, plus even many former Birchers such as: Alan Stang, Gary Allen, Milorad Draskovich, John Rees, William Norman Grigg, Mrs. Robert Welch -— and many many more.

So, is it YOUR contention that NONE of these persons was “an actual conservative” — because many of them associated themselves with Buckley’s position on the JBS?

Do a search on “Eisenhower’s War Crimes” regarding his treatment of German Soldier POWs post WW and tell me he was an honorable man.

“May 8, 1945, Eisenhower was appointed Military Governor of the U.S. Occupation Zone, based in Frankfurt am Main....He made the decision to reclassify German prisoners of war (POWs) in U.S. custody as Disarmed Enemy Forces (DEFs), thus depriving them of the protection of the GENEVA CONVENTION. As DEFs, their food rations could be lowered and they could be compelled to serve as unfree labor.” Eisenhower has been accused of allowing 1 to 1.5 million German POWs perish under his watch.

Most of those you noted became well known as just more Red Republicans or Conservative Inc. members. Primarily enablers of massive centralized government as are 98% of politicians and bureaucrats. Wm Buckley was one arrogant tool and the JBS had the fraud’s number. Sorry if that upsets your applecart but sometimes reality does not support generic history lessons as the victor’s write it.
As for Eisenhower, if there’s any justice he’s burning in hell after what he did to the German prisoners of war.

I know that when anyone starts calling others racist and claims that MLK aka Michael King was some type of great hero they are likely to be leftist or progressive repubs who are cowards and refuse to stand up for themselves. Matter of fact I’m thinking the Rove Repubs have just about destroyed the Conservative label and I’ going to go by something new, maybe Ethno Nationalist or American of Pale Complexions.

Very silly reply by you Iopscusa. Most of the individuals I listed were friends of Robert Welch, and/or supported and endorsed the same politicians which Welch did (for example Robert Taft and Barry Goldwater), and they financially contributed to the same causes as Welch.

Furthermore, several of the persons listed became JBS members or endorsers.

Lastly, JBS publication entitled “Conservative Index” scored the voting behavior of all members of Congress. The highest scores were given to politicians who (from the JBS perspective) correctly understood Constitutional principles and then voted appropriately. If you were to compare the positions favored by the JBS to the statements made by the persons I listed (whom you now want to de-value, dismiss and denigrate as “Red Republicans or Conservative Inc members”, you would discover that if the JBS had scored them as though they were members of Congress, they ALL would have scored VERY high.

So stop pretending that the people I listed can be dismissed as some sort of faux conservatives. Incidentally, one final comment: Bill Buckley contributed money to several Welch enterprises and the National Review crowd were among the very first people whom Welch solicited for support when he created the first JBS-front organization entitled “Committee Against Summit Entanglements” aka CASE. And those same people immediately associated themselves with his new group.

Oh, one more thing:

Are you familiar with the American Bar Association’s Special Committee on Communist Tactics, Strategy and Objectives? And the American Legion’s National Americanism Commission?

These two entities were comprised of hard-line conservatives (including some JBS endorsers!). Significantly, both of them published material which falsified JBS premises and conclusions and both of them recommended and promoted speakers who were anti-JBS.

You obviously have no serious knowledge about this matter.

With respect to MLK Jr. you mean “leftist or progressive repubs who are cowards” like former Cong. Ron Paul — who declared during the January 2012 GOP primary debate in New Hampshire that:

“And one of my heroes is Martin Luther King because he practiced the libertarian principle of peaceful resistance and peaceful civil disobedience, as did Rosa Parks.”

What makes YOU think that YOU are the most competent and final arbiter of whom is, or is not, a genuine conservative? Why should we accept your premise that YOU represent any sort of principled conservatism?

Just another snide cop-out because you cannot handle anyone who disagrees with something you prefer to believe.

What do you think about Stanton Evans, “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies”?

Thanks search123 for the tip on Sen. James Eastland of Mississippi who does sound very much like an elected official that does uphold the Constitution. I’ll have to research him. You on the other hand must be particularly proud of the successes of Mike L. King and that crooked commie LBJ who launched the failed War on Poverty in Detroit. Look what this great ‘Civil Rights’ movement has done for Detroit and the majority of the other black ruled cities. You are just another fool that makes excuses for the failure of all types of conservatives to stem the downfall of this great country. The whole thing was sent off the rails by the Red Repubs and the worst President of all time the crooked old Whig Abe Lincoln. May he and most of the rest of the US Presidents rest in hades!

Yeah I don’t see that Ron Paul should have any need to apologize to anyone.

Significantly, you did not refute anything in my previous message. Instead, you prefer ad hominem arguments because you have nothing factual to contribute to this discussion.

Incidentally,
(1) just FYI (although you obviously don’t care about facts), my own personal political convictions are libertarian.
(2) nobody genuinely interested in our country would cite Eastland as a role model. Eastland sought and received support from the KKK in Mississippi for his election campaigns and, of course, during that time, the KKK was on the Attorney General’s List of Subversive Organizations!

Furthermore, a very strong case can be made from the testimony of JBS member Rev. Delmar Dennis (he infiltrated the White Knights of the KKK for the FBI) that Eastland should have been indicted for conspiracy to obstruct justice because Eastland sought to prevent the trial and conviction of the numerous individuals (mostly Klan members) who were indicted for murdering 3 civil rights workers in 1964.

Then send former Cong Paul an email and ask him to retract his comments re: MLK and Rosa Parks -— then report back to us about his reply.
