Just being honest ...
Maybe I’ll go halves on the price of the gun, unless I get Anoreth’s tax refund again (I have your W-2 and 1099, Butterfly), because she has expensive taste in guns. I could get a lot of French grape juice for the price of a pretty weapon, especially if I hit the sale at Total Wine.
My high school aged grandchildren are mostly in private Catholic schools. A couple are in diocesan Catholic high schools. Every presidential cycle these schools hold elections. I know from many years of experience that the diocesan schools are typically more conservative and go almost 90% for the perceived pro-life candidate. Meanwhile the private school (i.e. the rich kids) typically go about 60% for the pro-life candidate. This time around the private schools were running right near 90% in favor of Romney/other and 10% for Obama. Amazing.
Since these private schools seek some racial diversity, and run about 10% minority, it either means nearly every white kid in the school voted against Obama or quite a few of the minority kids did.
I'm sure some of these recent college grads are sitting on their butts at their parents' expense, but I have to say the vast majority that I know are really trying to hustle. A lot of them are working temporary assignments, like through Accountemps. I know several with a couple of part time jobs because no full time ones were available to them. And these are kids with Business Degrees, not basketweaving.
I know a kid who made Law Review at Temple University who took a job at what I'm told is a third tier law firm and he is *delighted* to have a job. Many of his peers don't.
I lived through the seventies. This economy is worse.
I would guess quite a few of those living with mom and dad have jobs. And student loans. They thought they were going to graduate with 40k and 50k dollar jobs. Instead, they're lucky to have a part time or temporary assignment in their own field (like accounting).
I might be picking up a 1911 in a couple weeks anyway (via a completely legal sale in this state, of course.) Guy wants to sell it for 300 bucks.
I’m sure it’s perfectly legal. Is Piper the “purchaser of record”?
if you’ll reread my post, you will see that I gave both good and bad examples.
Well stated, but it really sucks that gainful employment is a negative. That speaks condemnation on today’s HR professional.
