Good point, although a clever prosecutor could probably define legislation that interferes with the 2nd Amendment as activity that seeks to damage the US by weakening its defenses, thereby making such activity an attack, making it meet the “levying war against them” standard.... Also, there might be a pretty good case for the current administration to be considered as adhering to the enemies of the US, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, or Communist China....

Thank you. If we’re going to have a “national conversation” about firearms let’s start by demanding that every law on the books be challenged on its Constitutionality. Never give a inch! ;-)
I’ve still got some faith in the NRA- numbers and money are useful, and I’m a life member myself. I don’t have much in the Republican party though, because I think they would like very much to cave in on this issue.
I agree with you on the NRA. They have been far too willing to compromise on our god given right to protect ourselves against a government who is becoming more and more willing to turn their weapons and laws on us!
The NRA calls me so often I know their phone numbers by heart and I refuse to talk to them.
