Note the addresses that belong to both, "Barack Soetoro" (not Barry) and to Barack Obama as of 02/2010. It is an address in NYC at Columbia University. These were pulls that were completed using ACXIOM.

Documents had to be altered on 02/2010 at Columbia for there to be two separate indexes to be created

“....Whether a person formally renounces citizenship or has it taken away, there is a Certificate of Loss of Nationality issued, which is a public record. http://travel.state.gov/law/citizenship/citizenship_778.html";.

Many thanks for this information!

If its a public record, how can a researcher get it?

To whom do they write?

To what web site can they go?

I know people in the Imigrasi in Jakarta, and in 2009 I discussed with one of them the possibility of having a peek at Zero’s files. The fellow told me that those files had already been scrubbed in 2007. A party of Yanks came here and spent ~USD 150 000 to get the job done.

I did later, in 2010-11 read several threads on FR naming the leader of this group. I cannot recall the name, but he is/was the US congressman for American Samoa, IIRC.

I googled “Faleomavaega scrubbed”, and the first hit was an article similar to what would have been on here.

Don’t know if that link is OK to post, but there are many other articles about it....

(sigh)

I think the foreign aid can be the “smoking gun”. The info is out there. If he received aid as a foreign student then there’s no way, as far as I can see, that he can get out of it.

He either lied to get school paid for, or he was not a US citizen. As far as I can see, that’s the only two options

The process for obtaining access to a public record from the federal government is to file a Freedom of Information Act request:

The problem is that from 5th grade through law school, he never attended a public school. The Punahou School, Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard University are all private schools and any aid that he received might have come from private rather than governmental sources.
Obama ineligibility Attorney Orly Taitz made a recent attempt to obtain Obama’s Occidental College records and she not only lost, she was ordered to pay $4,000 for Occidental’s attorneys’ fees and court costs.

That figures. He can attend private schools, his wife can attend private schools, his kids attend private schools, but Government schools are the best option for my kids?

Still, the info is there, it’s just a matter of finding it.

Even natural-born citizen could forfeit their citizenship automatically if they became citizens of another country

No they can't.
That would kinda defeat the purpose of dual citizenship, wouldn't it?

Just so we're clear about the timeline, SCOTUS ruled that citizenship could not be taken away, and had to be renounced, back in 1967. Eight months before Obama left the country.

But even if Obama had been granted Indonesian citizenship before then, and consequently had his American citizenship stripped because of that, it would have been restored by that court ruling.

Little Barry Soetoro put in his time in gub’mint schools, he attended kindergarten at Noelani Elementary in Honolulu and he was in 4th grade in a public school in Jakarta, Indonesia. He slummed with us common folks![SARC]
A place to start is to see if the US State Department ever issued a student visa for Obama to enter the US. There’s lots of paperwork involved in being a foreign student. A Freedom of Information Act request might uncover some evidence. No financial aid office is going to grant a foreign student scholarship, grant or loan to someone who attended school in Hawaii for eight straight years without seeing their student visas.
I hope the records are still there but after Hillary Clinton’s and now John Kerry’s control of the State Department, who knows? Maybe that’s how Hillary got the job in the first place.

Not according to the information I got in 1985. Isn’t that the whole point - if you become a citizen of a hostile country, you lose your U.S. citizenship?

“Potentially Expatriating Acts

Section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1481), as amended, states that U.S. citizens are subject to loss of citizenship if they perform certain specified acts voluntarily and with the intention to relinquish U.S. citizenship. Briefly stated, these acts include:
1.obtaining naturalization in a foreign state upon one’s own application after the age of 18 (Sec. 349 (a) (1) INA);
...
etc...”

“Potentially expatriating acts” - true for all citizens, no?

...with the intention of relinquishing United States nationality...

How do you prove that?

Could it be that this is when the old paper information got computerized?

The other Soetoro on the page -- Obama's half-sister presumably -- is listed as being reported in 1997, 1999, and 2001. She did live in New York in those years, so those were presumably her addresses at that time.

She was in college in New York earlier in the Nineties and we don't see any records for her in those years. Barack was at Columbia even earlier: if there's no record of her college address, why would there be one of his?

I could be wrong. One of those addresses could have been her college address. Or she could have more addresses on the next page. But I'd say it's most likely that the Barack Soetoro entry is a fake.

People do end up on data bases long after they lived at an address. That's because they were added when they lived at those addresses. But I don't see any company charged with keeping a half-way contemporary record taking the time and trouble to log in quarter-century old addresses.

What would be the point? Computers would have been in use for all those decades, so it's really doubtful anybody would have been working off decades old paper compilations and demanding that they be digitalized all those years later.

Another thing: if I searched the database for Obama and his aliases. I'd first do a search for "Barack Obama" and see what came up. If Obama didn't come up as a Columbia student with the right address and "Barack Soetoro" did come up after all these years, I'd have to assume some shenanigans were involved. Not producing the results of a search for "Barack Obama" looks suspicious to me.

No.

There's a difference between birthright citizenship and naturalized citizenship. The latter may be revoked, the former not so easily. One needs to take certain deliberate actions, as extreme as taking arms against the US.

And in any case, a child wouldn't qualify. They can't renounce citizenship until achieving majority, nor can parents do it for them.

You're barking up the wrong tree here. There are no circumstances under which Obama could have ceases to be a natural-born citizen.
