groupthink. hatecrime. thoughtcrime.

kids cannot be kids.

zero tolerance means never having to use God-given common sense.

lunacy and political correctness are synonymous so a lunatic school administrator or teacher having a child arrested and or suspended for simply doing what a child does when exercising their imagination ought to exclude those people from ever coming into contact with someone elses child. Public schools need to teach the 3 Rs and stop the mental molesting and indoctrinating of our children. Fire the local school boards if it doesn’t change.

“Gun Free Zone” has become a “shooting fish in a barrel” kind of sport for the more literal-minded.

Guaranteed target-rich environment.

Shouting out naughty words used to be the way to get all kinds of attention (most of it unfavorable) for the emotionally deprived child. Now it is to make even the most innocuous of motions that may make some more hypersensitive of teachers think it “could” be a handgun of some type, and the miscreant is to be shamed before his (or her) peers, totally humiliated and shunned for “anti-social” behavior.

Children are made even more vulnerable than ever they were before.

The teacher has become the bogey man. Kids would almost welcome some crazed shooter into the classroom, if only to shut up that teacher who was tormenting some poor classmate.

I had Hopalong cassidy cap guns, my brother had Roy Rogers, a Red Ryder BB gun, and at 14 bought my first JC Higgins 12 ga. from Sears Roebuck.
Its a wonder I survived, today you eat a pastry so it looks like a gun and you are a confirmed killer.

In my neighborhood in the 60’s, the boys divided up into teams and played WAR in the woods. One of my best memories was catching the entire opposing team sitting around talking and I mowed them down with my 2x4 machine gun. What a coup!

Despite that deviant upbringing, I have not yet actually killed a single person. Weird but true.

Here’s my problem with all the hysteria. By declaring pop tarts and finger pointing to be “dangerous”, they desensitize kids to *real* dangers. I started with this thinking when I heard a commercial that said “What do you call someone who doesn’t recycle? Dangerous!”

So, since I don’t recycle, my granddaughter gets to consider me dangerous. Of course, she knows that the grandma who gives her chocolate isn’t dangerous, so when we tell her a stranger trying to get her into his car is dangerous, how is she going to react? By telling her eating a pop tart into the shape of a gun is dangerous, how is she going to react when we say taking drugs is dangerous? Or driving too fast? Or any number of things that have the potential to cause her harm? We are disabling her ability to be discerning with all this PC nonsense.

We have destroyed language, as well as common sense. And all I can do is keep telling her these people are full of s%$#.
