Are you typically lost when co-workers discuss current events around the water cooler? Do you have trouble figuring out the national debt or who that Ben Ghazi dude is, but you know what’s on Kim Kardashian’s grocery list?

If you think you only deserve fun answers to all life’s questions … you’re right! This primer will help you look smart and morally superior in any political discussion. Just memorize these big words, explained in easy terms you already know from TMZ and The Daily Show:

BIASED: If you have a weird friend who goes to church and her parents are still married, that’s what they are.

DEBT CEILING: This is like Lindsay Lohan’s probation: by law, she should go to jail if she gets arrested, but we all know she won’t.

Sadly, I’d say that ninety percent of America would fail a simple quiz on the top ten events going on presently.

You could quiz all one hundred Senators, and I think most would fail a test on the Constitution.

As for the media? They are simply confusing people more than helping.

The day when Paul Harvey could convey all the information you needed in a mere eight minutes, and you’d grasp national events easily....are long gone.

I need a guide to low-information voters. I should know more about America’s new rulers.

Went to a Boy Scouts fundraiser over the weekend. Someone had donated a box of Hostess Twinkies for the live auction. Lady sitting at the next table said, “Why would they auction those off, you can buy them at any grocery store for less than $5.00 a box.” Several people overheard her comment and just shook their heads but one young Scout mentioned that obviously she did realize the importance of the Hostess Twinkies and proceeded to tell her. Her response, “Are you sure about that? I never heard anything on TV about it”.

> MUSLIMS: These are like the blue people from the movie Avatar — they live in a magic tree and don’t need human technology or any of our laws like gravitation, because they have a miraculous energy source inside their planet. Humans must respect that, and send them humanitarian aid. But instead, an evil corporation from Earth brings drilling equipment; that’s why all humans get killed.

LOL

Certainly, nobody can know every pertinent fact. However, many Americans abuse the privilege. I have a lib bro-in-law who swore up and down that political correctness at colleges was caused by conservative Republicans. He was arguing from complete ignorance, but refused to be convinced. And my three lib sisters are great examples of what Reagan said about libs “knowing so many things that aren’t so.”

Why not just promise free candy, cleaner air, end of racism, lowering sea levels etc... it’s worked on democrat voters for years.
