Some days mocking elites is too easy. It would be more fun if they offered a challenge and if the flipside of their misbehavior wasnt routinely repugnant.
Being in San Francisco, one of my favorite snobs to snub is our own Senior Dementia Senator, Dianne Feinstein. Being of autocratic attitude, she is simply ripe for ridicule. She provides everyone even her admirers with comic content and which unintended consequences. Yet as you will soon see, she pays no penalty while her betters people with functioning dendra are punished for the crime of thinking wrong.
(A cop once told me there are only three crimes in the world: The crime of being stupid, the crime of thinking wrong, and the crime of driving with your head rectally inserted. All laws are a derivative of these three.)
When discussing Feinstein, guns and their control are ultimately the topic. Having proclaimed she would ban handgun ownership if she could, but herself having a revolver and a concealed carry permit (obtainable only by elites in this town), anything she says or does with guns is bound to be dangerously entertaining in a macabre and nearly Rod Serling sort of way. I opened the first chapter of Shooting The Bull regaling readers by recapping a Feinstein press conference in which she ghetto-swept the room with her finger on the trigger of an AK-47. The stunt was designed to scare a hall filled with post-modern town criers and incite them to scare the masses via mass media.
Fortunately the moment was caught on film.
The reason this is funny is not only because keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot is one of the first gun safety rules children learn at their parents direction, but also because it helps the other side. Take for instance a recent piece by San Francisco Chronicle newspaper columnist Debra Saunders. She attended a Fun Shoot conducted by a local NRA Members Council (an event so popular in the Bay Area that the NRA has started turning people away). During the mandatory safety training session, the NRA instructor repeated the keep your finger off the trigger precaution and then flashed that infamous photo of Feinstein dangerously fingering a firearm.
Dianne, when citizens see you are a dope, your politics are in danger. When the local newspaper paints you a fool, it is time to retire.
Feinsteins failings makes the tale of Evan Nappen somewhat depressing. Evan is a firearms instructor, and has a son who has come of shooting age. Being trained and sane, the youngster was given his first rifle. The kid has a hunting license, so he posed with his new rifle in hunting camos. As nearly a billion users do, he pasted the pic on Facebook. This caught the attention of a culturally ignorant neighbor who reported Evan to New Jerseys Department of Children and Families. The authorities came around, demanding to inspect Evans gun safes and generally behaved like small minded bureaucrats (pardon the redundant phrase).
Ignoring blatant constitutional violations and wanton uncivil behavior by the state, one interesting aspect stands out. The photo of the child shows him following that first basic rule of gun safety his finger is off of the trigger. The eleven year-old boy is demonstrably smarter than the ancient Dianne Feinstein. Granted, the bar is set kinda low, but it shows an interesting gap between members of Americas gun culture (whatever the Sam hell that is) and the elites, namely that the latter are not.
Centralized power can be dangerous. Fools in power are doubly so. Dolts at the helm of centralized power is cause for concern and a reason to stock-up on ammo.
I nominate this for the WORST possible headline.. EVER.
That headline will cause me to have nightmares.
“I nominate this for the WORST possible headline.. EVER”
I heard that! BLECK!
Funny how natural Feinstein, a leftist thug, holding a automatic weapon looks.
The pinstripe suit makes her look a bit like a Prohibition-era gangster.
“Funny how natural Feinstein, a leftist thug, holding a automatic weapon looks.”
Reminds me of the picture of Patty Hearst making an unauthorized withdrawal at a bank.
LOL! My reaction to the headline was “No, thank you”
Wrong, Evan Nappen is the attorney for the Moore family.
Headline aside, everytime I see some poliician do something stupid like that I keep wishing the cops that are most likely in the room took them to the ground at gunpoint and frogmarched them out.
I need bleach for my brain.
There went lunch!!!!!!
Made a mistake. Shawn Moore was the instructor ... I cited his attorney.
I know coming home from Nam some were diverted because they could not cure them... Is there a cure for this??? Some new wonder drug????
Heck I think my 8 year old is smarter than ANY Liberal senator!!
He would agree...
Cue the “What has been seen cannot be unseen” cat!
Might need more than one in this case.
