As the Global Warming gang has done in recent years, over the centuries the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW) have destroyed the lives of perhaps millions of people with their bogus “predictions” of the end of the world. Both have fooled people into radical changes in their lives to avoid the phony Armageddon they have been preaching. It has been painful to watch and listen to these poor deluded people regardless of which hoax was destroying them.
Nevertheless, as destructive as the JW’s phony predictions have been to individuals at least the rest of us have not been forced by some government authority to stand next to them on the mountaintops waiting. When the JWs come to our door we have the choice of either politely listening or closing the door. Asking them a few embarrassing works well to ward them off.
If only we could rid ourselves of the government nitwits who...

You are correct plus they have never at any time “gathered on a mountain top” to wait. They have misread bible timelines on occasion but they have learned form those misreadings as well. I have relatives who are JW’s and they are decent honest people.
My best friend was a JW when I met him. I’d never even heard the term before, and I naively invited him to come to church. His parents weren’t very active, Watchtower-wise, so they let him. He eventually became a Christian, led his family to Christ, and is now a pastor.
They do all seem to be nice people, but their errors go way beyond misreading Bible prophecy. They have a fundamentally flawed view of God and have twisted many Christian teachings. They even created their own Bible “translation” in an effort to justify their many errors.
And as the original post alludes, some of their errors have had catastrophic and fatal consequences for people who believed them.
The new IPCC report is considered the BEST GOVERNMENT GRANT MONEY CAN BUY.
But only "Day of Doom' was their own.
One day they will be right....one day...
To paraphrase from the Bible, no one knows the day or time but always be prepared to go...

It's been flat long enough to invalidate the old model predictions, yet they keep repeating the predictions as if "any day now" temperatures will shoot up.
