Washington Post's E.J. Dionne Declares The Era Of The Far Right And The Era Of The Tea Party Is Over
Truth Revolt ^ | 10/21/2013 | Jeff Dunetz

The Washington Post's E.J. Dionne was a guest on NBC's Meet The Press this morning. Dionne declared both the Tea Party and conservatism dead:

I think that the era of the far right and the era of the Tea Party is over. We wasted $12-24 billion of GDP on a political tactic that was designed to win by intimidation. We have an opening for normal government for the first time since the 2010 elections

A search of Dionne's Washington Post columns presents a history of attacks on the Tea Party movement going back to a 4/19/2010 column in which he wrote:

The Tea Party is nothing new. It represents a relatively small minority of Americans on the right end of politics, and it will not determine the outcome of the 2010 elections.

In fact, both major parties stand to lose if they accept the laughable notion that this media-created protest movement is the voice of true populism. Democrats will spend their time chasing votes they will never win. Republicans will turn their party into an angry and narrow redoubt with no hope of building a durable majority.

The British were saying the same thing right up until Yorktown.

I suppose we are called radical because we believe that we cannot spend more than we make.

I suppose that we are radical because we feel that people should work and earn a living.

I suppose we are radical because we know there is no free lunch.

I suppose we are radical because we want to raise our own children , and not have the government raise them for us.

EXCELLENT NEWS. The COMMUNIST MEDIA can concentrate on more important things now—like Hillary’s Benghazi disaster, the Obamacare fiasco, Al Quaeda in Syria, Muslim Brotherhood in the Administration, NSA snooping, and IRS political corruption.

Yeah, right.

Did anyone bother to tell Dionne that the era of the Washington Post left the station a couple of years ago?

E.J. Dionne is one of the most sycophantic supporters of Obama that’s ever taken oxygen. Nothing... NOTHING would ever drive him to give even the slightest hint of criticism toward his god.

He’s to be ignored.

Where the heck did he come up with that estimate? And really, twelve-to twenty-four billion? Laughable! E.J., here's my prediction: the WaPo will cease a print edition in the near future, but the Tea Party will still be going strong!

Is it OK to call Dionne a brown-noser, or would that be perceived as racist?

How many times has the TEA Party been declared dead?

and what is the “far right”? The left has moved so far left it would not have been recognizable 40 years ago.

We wasted $12-24 billion of GDP . . . .

Others have pointed out that keeping government from co-opting $24 billion dollars is a good thing. That money remained in the hands of those who earned it.

(Of course the money will be snatched back to pay for the two-week vacations)

Let him think we are dead. He will then be blind to our efforts to get our message out and grow our ranks. Nothing could be more helpful than a blind press while we purge the party of the RINOS they love.

Those who wish a balanced budget are on the far right. That means the obverse is also true, by implication. Those that do not want a balanced budget are the far left.

Those who value the freedom to enter into a contract are the far right. Those who would destroy the right of the people to enter into contracts are the far left.

Those who would prefer to live by their own merits, and to be rewarded for the their production are on the far right. Those would prefer to live off the merits and production of others are the far left.

Those who expect no man to live for them, are far right. Those who expect all men to live for them, are the far left.

Q.E.D.
