“Probably 75% will lose their homes and not have enough to eat.”
Only if they mismanaged their personal finances in the same way thet the city mismanaged their budgets. By retirement, a person SHOULD have a paid for home, therefore their SSIP bennies would be more than enough for food.
However, if they failed to act their wage, then yep, they will pay for their poor choices.
There are plenty of abandoned homes to give to those pensioners.
These people had pensions. pensions that provided for their retirement.
Give me 16% of my pension and I couldn’t pay the taxes on my home much less eat. Your argument is badly thought out.
Hahaha! So, your taxes are so high that 16% of your pension couldn’t cover it.....well, why could your prop taxes be so high? Could it be due to the public pensioners?
The fact is that these folks either directly held taxpayers hostage, or they celebrated others doing it, for their entire working careers. I don’t feel sorry for their ilk.
I can see that you don’t ,but many people who work for Fire and Police, and other Government functions perform a needed service for their community, but of course you would rather not have police and fire, ambulance service, Water , or Sewer workers, or teachers for your children, and you would have them working for a pittance as any other slave to keep you comfortable.
I can tell you that in todays society of younger people not doing any volunteer work there would be none of these services if not for paid people.
I believe your thinking is a bit shallow perhaps you are too young to actually think of what services are performed and what is a proper salary. If you believe you could live without these vital services then you definitely are not from this planet.
Could you pay your property taxes, State and Federal Taxes ,sales taxes, registration fees, with 16% of your salary?
I am sure you have put away millions for your retirement and it is earning you 0.10% interest in todays banks.
No one holds taxpayers hostage, you elected each of the people that granted those wages and benefits. Maybe you did not vote wisely.
