"Or “You can keep your insurance. Period.”"

An even better example, since it came from the mouth of The Genius.

The period ends the sentence - the quote was a phrase extracted from a sentence. The end of the sentence was not within the quote - hence, the period outside the quote. If the quote was the end of a sentence, the period would stay inside the quote, and no further period is required. A sentence could actually be quoted in the middle of another sentence - in that case, the complete-sentence quotation would contain a period and another period at the end of the larger, containing sentence.

At least, that’s how I was taught.

EXCELLENT - I’m sorry I missed that in my diatribe!

Not petty at all when addressing this kind of moron!

“It” looks like that androgynous character “Pat.”

Question for someone with more biology education than me: At what age do you castrate a male to produce this particular look?

I kind of like Portlandia. It is libs poking fun at themselves, which when you think about it, does not happen very often. The show is not very popular in Portland, OR. They can dish it out, but they can't take even a little. No surprise there.

He reminds me of Zippy The Pinhead.

I need to watch season 3 of Portlandia over Christmas.

I watched it. It's a dud compared to 1 and 2.

“It’s a dud compared to 1 and 2.”

That’s too bad. I particularly enjoyed the uncut version of “Brunch Village”. And the one where the parents are taking their 25 year old kid around to get the petition signed to save pelicans from pelican cancer. And the one where where they were trying to get their kid into the trendy preschool. And the feminist bookstore was always pretty good.

He’s getting married?

To what, exactly. Amazing how the phrase ‘getting married’ is now so loaded you don’t even want to discuss the event.

Is he gay? If so, I guess the question is whether he’s the one getting married on the Rose Bowl float.

If its ‘Traditional marriage’, otherwise known as ‘marriage’, then the charitable nature of the female gender knows no bounds.

I figured based on the follow up blog post that we were being overly hard on him about the review of Palin’s book.

We weren’t. We were being kind. He literally attempted not once to meet any of Palin’s arguments on the merits.

The sickest part of his review is the level of hate in it, all the while attacking Palin’s book as hateful.

Then he comes back all bitchy about the criticism?

Progressivism really is a baby-destroying, freedom-hating, fascist, secular cult.
