IS PUTIN ONE OF US?

By: Patrick J. Buchanan 12/17/2013 Is Vladimir Putin a paleoconservative?

In the culture war for mankind’s future, is he one of us?

While such a question may be blasphemous in Western circles, consider the content of the Russian president’s state of the nation address.

With America clearly in mind, Putin declared, “In many countries today, moral and ethical norms are being reconsidered.”

“They’re now requiring not only the proper acknowledgment of freedom of conscience, political views and private life, but also the mandatory acknowledgment of the equality of good and evil.”

Translation: While privacy and freedom of thought, religion and speech are cherished rights, to equate traditional marriage and same-sex marriage is to equate good with evil.

No moral confusion here, this is moral clarity, agree or disagree.

President Reagan once called the old Soviet Empire “the focus of evil in the modern world.” President Putin is implying that Barack Obama’s America may deserve the title in the 21st century.

Nor is he without an argument when we reflect on America’s embrace of abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, pornography, promiscuity, and the whole panoply of Hollywood values.

Our grandparents would not recognize the America in which we live.

Moreover, Putin asserts, the new immorality has been imposed undemocratically.

Putin is a Russian nationalist.

Yes, you are correct. BUT he holds the West and the US in particular in contempt. He is no friend of the US nor We the People. Neither is he a Traitor. He is also smart.

I don’t see why Putin would want to see the US to fail unless he wants to face the one billion Chinese threat on his eastern border with no other world superpower to help balance against the danger.

I can’t stand when conservatives become stupid. Putin? Please. What a doosh. He is a nasty person who should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as conservatives.

Putin is neither an American nor is it his job to save America. That’s our (Americans’) job to do.
And indeed, he is at least historically an enemy of USA (and probably is still pretty much an enemy of USA).
All that I grant.

But he is right about the decline in Biblical faith in USA, at least in part. And he is more than partly right about the (largely consequent) decline in basic moral values in America.
(These declines are being promoted, pushed by Obama and his people... alas.)

It pays to listen to your enemies (or outsiders) as sometimes they will, or can, say things that folks at home won’t (or are afraid to) say.

On these points, Putin is right and we had better acknowledge it. If we don’t even admit these simple facts, we have little or no chance or recovering our society (and eventually, our nation).

So thinketh one lone voice in the wilderness. Have at it, if you wish.
and
Merry Christmas!

The Chinese and the Russians are forming an alliance of late. We are the enemy they have in common. In fact, due to a number of mistakes over the years, we have become the focus of anger for many countries in the world.

We live in dangerous times. We do not have capable leadership and a great portion of our population is not prepared to face the threats we have both external and internal. I pray that we find the leaders and the courage to face both.

If your are a Christian, and follow standard Christian theology, you must confess the POSSIBILITY that Putin has become a Christian.

That people in America find him attractive only shows what a sorry state our country is.

He has some conservative values. Remember, his organization has run the Soviet Union, including its present remnant from a certain socially conservative position. Children for example, were not taught sex, homosexuality was a criminal offense, people in management positions were expected to be good family men, girls were taught modesty, art was supposed to be realistic and decent, etc. In his task of reassembling the USSR he finds Russia somewhat nostalgic of that. That is all.

Putin’s “theology” is closer to conservative Christians than is Obama, Reid, Pelsoi, Boxer, Feinstein, Mikulski, Durbin and the rest of the scumbags who are taking America down the road to Sodom and Gommorah.

We live in dangerous times.

No. You people must have all been born after 1975 and grew up on Sean Hannity. America has had no external enemies since 1989. Except for the ones we attack.

Alas, America has already been destroyed from within.

So, go tell your scary tales about that big, bad Putin and those scary Chinese while you're being raped by the TSA, your dog is being shot by cops and your daughter is being watched through her webcam. Putin isn't doing that to you. You are.

Our grandparents would not recognize the America in which we live.

Our parents and grandparents, in large part, put us here by voting for people like FDR, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. They gave up the nation to marxist revolution in the sixties and constantly voted their enablers into government. No sir, I suspect many if not most, of our parents and grandparents would be happy enough with where are.

You have spoken the truth. I fall in that age category, but I didn’t vote for Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton. My parents and grandparents bought the line from the socialist, progressive Democrats and voted accordingly.

I did say that we have internal enemies too. Some even more dangerous than the external ones. These people want to shred our Constitution and redefine what it means to be an American. Our biggest internal enemy is sin. Always has been and always will be.

Putin is not our friend. He is a former KGB officer who pretends to be a Christian while he systematically kills political opponents.

These are dangerous times for both internal and external threats. Our foreign policy mistakes and our ineptitude as the world’s policeman guarantee those enemies as you say. As we weaken internally, our enemies abroad will grow bolder. Why do you see one clearly and not the other?
No matter.

I don’t even watch Sean Hannity. Merry Christmas.

After Putin started practicing the Christian faith of his childhood he became a better man and he is 1000% times the man the homosexual Barry Sinclair is or ever will be. Putin is proud of his country, something that is foreign to the ward politician, who trying with all his power to destroy the United States. Lastly, Putin will not allow Russia to be taken over by radical sodomites. He does not allow it to be taught in schools and they can’t march up and down the streets in any “pride” parades. He does not want the children of Russia to be brainwashed into believing sodomy is normal behavior. If Putin could run for US president and his opponent was the homosexual Barry Sinclair, I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Remember what Putin said in a speech and wrote in a letter in Pravda the December after zero's first "election"?

He warned America, not to go down the road to communism, because that is what destroyed Russia.

I read elsewhere, he is afraid of communism spreading back to Russia once it has a firm hold in the USA.

He is well aware of the agents of the USSR infiltrating our education, political and media portions of the country.

He is now afraid the communists still in Russia, with the help of the communists here could regain a foothold in Russia.

Funny thing, when a former Soviet KGB leader, in support of mother Russia, is supporting the conservative view in America.

America has been on the road to becoming a collectivist hell for some 100 years now. And as we descend into that hell they that scream the loudest that Russia is still our enemy can not see that we are becoming what they, East Germany, Maoist China, Vietnam, et al have and are moving away from year after year.
