Putin is giving PC a kick-in-the-butt. In this respect he’s one of us. Today at Christmas Mass in the Cathedral of Cologne, a topless “FEMEN” protester disrupted serviced. In the US she’d be the new Sandra Fluke interviewed on 60 Minutes. In Putin’s Russia she’d be thrown into jail. In this respect, Putin is “our” kind of guy.

That is different. No question that a nationalist with an appreciation of the role of Christianity in society, -- which Putin is, -- would be an improvement in any Western government.

But unless "us" in the title is Soviet revanchists, the answer is No, not one of us.
