Hannity: I Talked With My Wife – “We Are Going to Leave” New York State (Video)
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 1-21-2014 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 01/21/2014 8:11:34 PM PST by servo1969

Sean Hannity tells his audience he is leaving New York state after Cuomo’s comments. Sean said he discussed it with his wife and they are moving to Texas or Florida.

“Look, I have contractual obligations, I can’t leave here. My kids are in school. And there are about over 100 people who that rely on me. People who have kids and mortgages and homes. I can’t selfishly pack up and leave. But my wife and I discussed last night Dana that we are going to leave. I wouldn’t pay a 10% state tax in Florida or Texas. I would save a lot of money… I spoke with Governor Perry. I talked with Governor Rick Scott of Florida. I got a nice note from the Lt. Governor of Texas.”

I’m taking Mr. Cuomo seriously. Anyone looking to by a 60 acre tree farm with a 3 bedroom house that just ten years old?

California does that sort of thing too, I understand.

It would be 100% moral and ethical to tell his employees that they were free to come with him to the new state and that he would even pay some moving expenses. I am certain that he would give a generous severance pay to those who choose to stay in NY.

The only possible problem might be his kids in schools and waiting until the end of the school year might be right. Waiting 3 years does not seem right to me. It is a half-hearted effort.

Oh, they do. My wife and I pulled our business and home out of there eight years ago, and they're still trying to ding us for state income taxes for years which we didn't live there.

It's been a nightmare to get their incorrect tax liens canceled, and the marks on our credit removed.

It's Sean. He's a big wimpy bear. If he really meant what he said, he could do like you suggested, and offer to ease the financial burden of the transition for his staff.

But no. He'd rather stay in New York and give up 64% of his income in local, state, and federal taxes. The libs will be laughing at him for weeks over this.

New Jersey is closer to NYC than Long Island. Not much of a tax break, but no Cuomo. Connecticut isn’t far way either - heck, many hedge funds are located by Greenwich and Westport.

From a former Nassau County resident, actions speak louder than words Sean.
Current ambient conditions: Garden City, NY 12° Tarpon Springs, FL 56° (we’re having a bit of a cold spell down here.)

I knew someone who had bank accounts frozen. He handled it calmly but I would have totally gone to pieces. Hint: think twice before banking with Chase.

If I’m alive in 2017 I predict this threat has been forgotten. Plus, where is he going to go to work? If his contracts force him to stay in NY, will he get new contracts to broadcast from Texas? He ain’t Rush.

That’s probably when his younger kid graduates from high school.

Apparently because too many people's livelihoods are tied into his two shows.

They all have jobs, he should take the whole lot of them with him and tell NY good riddance.

All Hannity can really do is offer his staff a job in the new location and some financial assistance to move there. Life is complex, and most people can't, or are unwilling to uproot themselves and their families, just to stick with a certain employer.

I think Sean feels that he'd be adversely impacting too many people with his personal choice to leave. While I understand that, he ought to realize that most of those people would only be temporarily impacted by his decision. It's not like he'd destroy anyone's life because of it.

I think he's just too soft to go through with it.

If a state tax board comes calling at your bank with a legal seizure order, I'm pretty sure most of them would surrender the funds to pay a tax lien. I doubt that it's just Chase.

That's a dumb reason to stay parked behind enemy lines. It just shows you how well Sean is insulated from the reality of Democrat tyranny. If it really was hurting him and his family, wild horses couldn't stop him from leaving.

I uprooted four of my kids from everything they'd ever known when we moved to Texas. They've established new roots here, and wouldn't go back to Cali if you paid them. Then again, we're just a Mom & Pop sort of business, and were feeling the pain directly.

It's broadcasting. He can do his show from anywhere in the country. The majors have studios in every large city. As long as he delivers his show every day, he's making good on the contract.

“Waiting 3 years does not seem right to me. It is a half-hearted effort.”

He also said: “I can’t move. I have contractual obligations.” That might be the reason for the long delay.

I forget the idiot politician that said: "If I knew I could get rid of Rush earlier, I would have done it". (Referring to taxes)

Well, moron, you don't get to collect any of that sweet tax $ from Rush anymore.

Enjoy it fool.

And DeBlasio should understand that he's going to screw over his tax-sucking base if he chases off the "producers" who provide the leeches with their ill-gotten gains.

I just don't GET liberals.

OK, promise the sponges more programs and free goodies, but if you destroy the people PAYING for said benefits, just where do you think the money will come from?

Lampreys don't pay taxes.

They suck the juices out of those who do.
