Is the South Park generation the key to a conservative future?

Almost 20% of black men went for Romney? Holy cow!

I didn't realize there was so much conservative potential there.

Maybe Republicans should forget trying to counter Democrat's "war on women" claims and instead flank them with a focus on black men.

Thanks for posting the article.

South Park is a ‘reflection’ of society.

Therefore it is easy to identify with.

Freepers and Freeping CLINTON , and the organization of troop rallies led by FREEPERS is what started the Tea Party

I mean, serious, think about it

WE were the only ones leading any conservative causes, it sure weren’t the GOPe, nor was it any dope smoking libertarians...

Amen, Race. We were here long before the South Park trash. Sure some of their stuff is funny. But a lot of it is sacrilegious and garbage. There. I said it. Deal with it.

You’re right. Santelli really lit the fuse. I just happened to be watching that day. It was breathtaking. I almost cried.....

Parker & Stone (one of ‘em said this): “We hate conservatives but we really hate liberals”. See the book South Park
Republicans

Typical response of leftists when the movie came out:
“These guys sold out BIG TIME!”

The movie Conservatives really need to see now is "Captain America: Winter Soldier". Very much an allegory for the abuses of the Obama Administration.

Should also read this interview on AICN with one of the movie's directors. Particularly telling is this paragraph. Note the bolded emphasis - this guy really gets it, and goes completely against Hollywood orthodoxy:

Anthony Russo: I think it's also important to consider where the country was in those two periods. '80 to '89 is Ronald Reagan finally winning the Cold War against the collapsing Soviet Union. Those were good days with a good economy and all of that. Now we're post-9/11, and we're in the age of preemptive strikes and the NSA and all kinds of very complicated things that make our identity as a country vulnerable and paradoxical in a lot of ways. It's a more relevant time to look at Captain America than the '80s.

What used to be parody on South Park is now reality. The episode where the boys are thrown into a Diversity Concentration Camp was funny at time. Now bakers and photographers are frorced by the state to participte in homosexual” marrages”.

Rick Santelli of CNBC gave rise to the Tea Party, with his call for a New Chicago Tea Party on the floor of the CBOT (in 2009). Everyone tries to lay claim to having "started" the Tea Party, but give credit where credit is due...to Rick Santelli.

That sounds great and inspiring, but it's not true. In 2007 and 2008, several friends and I attended Ron Paul events and fundraisers, where they were calling it "the rise of a new tea party." Even Juan Williams reluctantly admitted on FOX News that the Tea Party movement emerged from the ashes of Ron Paul's 2008 presidential primary campaign.

And in August of 2008, ChicagoTeaParty.com was registered by Zack Christenson, producer for conservative talk show host Milt Rosenberg.

And on January 24, 2009, the Young Americans for Liberty in New York State organized a "Tea Party" to protest obesity taxes proposed by New York Governor David Paterson and call for fiscal responsibility on the part of the government. Several of the protesters wore Native American headdresses similar to the band of 18th century colonists who dumped tea in Boston Harbor to express outrage about British taxes.

Santelli's rant was not until February 19, 2009.

Ron Paul may have re-grabbed the tea party moniker in ‘07, but it was Rick Santelli and his frustration-rant that sparked the rise of “The” Tea Party as we knew and know it.

The first “Tea Party” rallies were on February 27th 2009 after his rant, Santelli got the ball rolling, he may have had knowledge of the Ron Paul Tea Party when he had his rant but most people who are ‘Tea Partiers’, when it started in 2009, didn’t associate those rallies with him. They were bigger than him.

In looking back at the first post above I can see that ChicagoTeaParty did jump on the band wagon after Santelli’s tv appearance - and it went national - but these weren’t Ron Paul rallies, even though there may have been Ron Paul supporters in the crowds.

(And back to On-Topic - South Park Rules :))
