That's exactly what happened. Just as so many misuse Matthew 7:1 by ignoring Matthew 7:2...

A really excellent rule of exegesis that seems to have been forgotten by most cemetery, er, seminary profs today is that "A text without context is usually pretext."

Food for thought, but the author has trouble discerning between physical and spiritual concepts. It might be better to pledge allegiance to the Constitution these days - the Nation is toast.
