President Barack Obama justified his Taliban prisoner swap Thursday by playing up the emotional connection between kids and parents and saying that “we don’t condition whether or not we make that effort try to get them back.”
During a press conference in Brussels, Obama portrayed U.S. soldiers as pitiable “children” and “kids” sent off to war, not as troops who made the decision to join the military as adults.
“As commander in chief of the U.S. Armed Forces, I am responsible for those kids, and I get letters from parents who say, ‘If you are in fact sending my child to war, make sure that child is being taken care of,’” he told reporters in Belgium.
“The American people understand that this is somebody’s child, and that we don’t condition whether or not we make that effort to try to get them back,” said Obama.
U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl volunteered for the Army as an adult, and graduated from infantry school at the age of 22. He walked away from his combat post at the age of 23, and — according to some of his former comrades — was sympathetic to local Taliban fighters trying to kill Americans. Normally, Democrats say people aged 18 are adult enough to drive, and that girls aged 13 are mature enough to have an abortion.
On Friday, Obama will visit the beaches in Normandy, where in 1944 American soldiers as young as 16 assaulted German machine-gun sites in pursuit of a noble goal — destroying Adolf Hitler’s national socialist rule. Prior to that landing, General Dwight Eisenhower wrote a resignation note in case of defeat, where he described the U.S. soldiers as respected “troops” — not as “children” — under the command of responsible leaders....

Before D-Day, we should have dropped these leaflets on the Germans, reminding them that he men arriving on their beaches and from the sky, were all “somebody’s child”.
Cain was somebody’s child too. Obama is overly fond of the “brother’s keeper” quote out of that particular “child”.
I am more disturbed that he will be visiting hallowed ground.
Yet 75% of all the Combat Casualties suffered by our Military “children” in Afghanistan happened under Obama’s time in Office, many due to his ridiculous Rules Of Engagement...

I get to say "hate". It is a human emotion and will not ever apologize to those who say I'm not entitled to hate. It's just one of many human emotions like love, compassion, empathy, fear, courage, etc.
Here's a thought for you Libs reading this: I hate spiders; I hate scorpions; I hate you dumbass hippies; I hate the fact that so many die in wars without killing those I hate within stupid limited Rules of Engagement. We should have nuked Aftganiscrap years ago, collateral damage be damned. The Allies stopped Hitler and Tojo by killing them all. The world turned out to be a better place.
I especially hate Obambi and many other self-serving politicians that ignore our Constitutional principles that built the most productive and admired and generous and copied nation in history. Don't like it? Too bad.

Well, everyone I think should know that I will never give Obama credit with doing anything gutsy on his own. I think the man is a coward, on the other hand...he’s also a sneak, and a narcissist.
I think Putin has really got to him, and perhaps Assad and even Karzai. So what could he do to put the screws to all three, maybe even the Israelis?
He releases five commanders under the pretext of a swap, but what if he made the decision with this in mind?
MAKE IT CLEAR TO THEM THAT HE, OBAMA, WILL CONTINUE TO WIND DOWN THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN...BUT IN RETURN I WANT YOU TO FIGHT ASSAD AND THE RUSSIANS ANYWAY YOU CAN...KARZAI TOO.
HOWEVER IF I HEAR THAT YOU ARE ATTACKING AMERICANS...I WILL ORDER DRONES AGAINST YOU.
If that is his mind set, look for him to empty Gitmo.
