I haven't gotten more respectful since I've been out.
And no, I was an upright/uptight (mostly) airman during my first enlistment.
During my second (after 9/11) I was somewhat less so.
I was much more effective my second rodeo, though.

You have to make E-4 before you make E-5.
There was an E-4 Sgt the first time I was in. Now it's SrA to SSgt, and Sgt doesn't exist.
Lots of stuff has changed.

I don’t know...I made E5 in 3-4 years, and thought I was pretty average. But that was back in the seventies, maybe things are different now.

No way in this world would I predict what is coming next! Not competent to stand trial, general administrative discharge as pfc his enlistment ended years ago.

I did and it was easy, I was only the one in my unit to be promoted to E-6 and the only one on base to E-7.
