Kidding aside, I worked in the media over a decade.
Save your money. The only way you fix journalism in America is close all the news outlets, start from scratch and make it a felony to report false info.
Since that is constitutionally impossible, there is no fix. For every 100 journalists, you may find one that actually deserves the title. The other 99 are J school flunkies who went into it to change the world to fit their agenda.
And I think the other former and current journo/writer/Eds on FR will tell you something close to that. The corruption is systemic. From liberal content depts to ad revenue based reporting decisions to government pressure.
So someone commits a crime; and now in addition to not being able to add race to the description of the perp ( unless they are white), we shall not assign a gender to the description so as to avoid assaulting the sensitivities of the criminal and thereby inadvertently committing a more serious crime ourselves.

When meeting someone new, do we ask them if they are male or female so that we may address them properly?
Should we just address them as human? Instead of saying Mr. John Smith, we’d say, Human John Smith.
