WHITES NEED NOT APPLY: Black Leaders In Fresno Oppose White ‘Cultural Studies’ Teacher
The Daily Caller ^ | 29 Jul 2014 | Eric Owens

Black community leaders in Fresno, Calif., are urging the Fresno Unified School District to re-evaluate the hiring of a white guy to teach three cultural studies courses at a brand-new middle school that will overwhelmingly serve minority students.

Rutherford B. Gaston Middle School — named after the city’s first black principal — will open in a few short weeks. It’s the first middle school in the immediate, poverty-ridden vicinity since 1979.

The protesters are unhappy because the school has chosen to hire Peter Beck, a person with white skin, over other, unidentified candidates, The Fresno Bee reports.

Beck will teach African-American studies, Latino studies and Southeast Asian studies.

On Monday morning, a small band of activists showed up in front of the sparkling new school at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Church Avenue. The local press was also there.

“We’re just saying what the community wants,” said Rev. Karen Crozier, one of the activists. “We didn’t fight for a white male or female teacher to educate our babies.”

Crozier, who appears to be a professor at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, also suggested that a white person cannot teach minority children in this instance because of racism.

“We still are at these racial fault lines, and we want someone who will be able to think critically about those racial fault lines and how do we help heal, to restore the problems that have existed,” she explained.

Another black community leader, Paul McCoy of New Light for New Life Church of God, also spoke.

“We’re all faced today with so much dysfunction and violence from young people, and that violence is simply because they don’t know who they are, they don’t know where they come from,” he proclaimed.

The left is completely invested in perpetuating the cycle of racism to yet a new generation.

It amazes me the number of people that cannot read a friggin’ map.

What's the most dangerous weapon in the U.S. Army inventory?

A Second Lieutenant with a map.

Not so much whose fault it is, but but whose private honey-hole it is.

Black ministers and teachers are vested in keeping racism alive.

I’d be willing to bet cash money that the other candidates were illiterate, dumber than a box of rocks, unqualified, lazy, etc. etc.

The poor school board had no choice but to take the first fool that showed any interest whatsoever.

Well, if you want someone to help heal racial division, you definitely don’t want a minority “cultural studies” teacher, that is for sure!

Do they even BOTHER with American history in this liberal run middle school?

Duh, yeah. It's taught by Shaif Hirboush.

What's hilarious about this is that Beck - by nature a radical leftist - can say absolutely nothing to defend himself.

His entire career is dedicated to promoting and instilling exactly this kind of thinking.

I’m sure they do, but the modern public school version of American history:

It starts with Columbus coming over and enslaving natives to mine gold on penalty of getting their hands chopped off.

Next, the Spanish come along and purposely infect all the natives with smallpox in acts of genocidal terror.

Then we hear about the crazy religious sects from England burning poor proto-feminists accused of “witchcraft”.

Next, we focus on the trans-Atlantic slave trade, ignoring any aspects of it that don’t fit the narrative “white people are evil”.

That’s just the first 400 years, we can cover the rest next semester.

At some point I believe many people are coming to the conclusion that nothing can be done with a certain segment of the population. Fifty to one hundred years from now, if nothing is changed, these same people will be screaming about racist whites “harming” their babies while their babies are gunned down in the streets or languish on the dole. They’ll never get a clue. Something drastic is needed, and it’s not more AA programs.

Teach the children to "question authority", especially that of self-appointed Communist race hustlers who hamstring the "community".

Recall in the 1990s that the Clinton administration tried to make the case of “ebonics” as a valid dialect of English.

It would become “racist” and “discriminatory” to reject a job applicant because of poor communication skills.

Set aside positions for those who were held back in life by Big Democrat.
