Sex Trouble: Feminists Worry That Disney Movies Are Making Girls Heterosexual
The Other McCain ^ | July 26, 2014 | Robert Stacy McCain

Is your daughter a victim of male oppression? Blame Aladdin – as well as The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, The Lion King and Toy Story 2.

Disney cartoons and other G-rated children’s movies are full of “gendered sexuality,” subjecting women to the male “objectifying gaze,” as “heterosexuality is constructed through hetero-romantic love relationships as exceptional, powerful, magical, and transformative.”

These were the conclusions of Women’s Studies professors Karin Martin and Emily Kazyak in their 2009 research paper, “Hetero-Romantic Love and Heterosexiness in Children’s G-Rated Films.” The sociologists examined “all the G-rated films grossing $100 million dollars or more between 1990 and 2005″ and found that these movies convey what feminists call “heteronormativity”:

Heteronormativity includes the multiple, often mundane ways through which heterosexuality overwhelmingly structures and “pervasively and insidiously” orders “everyday existence” . . . Heteronormativity structures social life so that heterosexuality is always assumed, expected, ordinary, and privileged. Its pervasiveness makes it difficult for people to imagine other ways of life. . . . Anything else is relegated to the nonnormative, unusual, and unexpected and is, thus, in need of explanation. Specifically, within heteronormativity, homosexuality becomes the “other” against which heterosexuality defines itself. . . . Heteronormativity regulates those within its boundaries as it marginalizes those outside of it. . . . Heteronormativity also rests on gender asymmetry, as heterosexuality depends on a particular type of normatively gendered women and men.

The feminist critique of heteronormativity and gender roles dates back to the earliest years of the Women’s Liberation Movement (so-called “second-wave” feminism) of the 1960s and ’70s. Radical lesbian manifestos by Artemis March (“The Woman Identified Woman,” 1970) and Charlotte Bunch (“Lesbians in Revolt,” 1972) denounced heterosexuality as part of a “sexist society characterized by rigid sex roles and dominated by male supremacy,” which “denigrates and despises women,”(continued)

Heterosexual?

Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Wouldn’t it be just awful if young girls watching Disney movies turned out to be normal?

These people are fully pushing the agenda that gender and sexuality are two different things. Gender and “normal” sexuality or sexual identity are indivisible. Anything other than that is abnormal.

Just like the sitcom the “new normal” was a great hit.

Heteronormativity structures social life so that heterosexuality is always assumed, expected, ordinary, and privileged. Its pervasiveness makes it difficult for people to imagine other ways of life. . .

This is a bad thing?

97%+ of people are hetero, dare I say normal, sexually, and these people want children's movies to reflect otherwise?

This kind of stuff really ticks me off but it goes to show that those promoting the homosexual agenda know they have to push it, hell; recruit, to increase their numbers and acceptance.

The outright craziest members of the benighted assemblage of leftists have always been radical feminists. Their claim of a system of sexual roles created by male oppressors of women i.e the patriarchy is just a spin on the old leftist idea of the blank slate or tabula rasa. They actually believe that men only think of women as sexual objects because the dreaded patriarchy instructs ALL!!! males to think that way. Hardwired human nature that causes males to lust after females doesn't exist and has nothing to do with anything.

As McCain points out, if you're a male who likes or lusts after women, you're just another male oppressor of women. But if you criticize the sex industry and prostitutes, strippers, porn stars, you're still an oppressor for criticizing "sex workers" and denying females sexual and career fulfillment. You awful male oppressors of women, you.

Those films are popular for that very reason, because the girls are already normal.

They're presuming that the girls are not and that the films encourage heterosexuality.

Idiots.

They actually had to do research to discover that children’s movies don’t actively promote sexual perversion? You know that somewhere there was taxpayer money funding this nonsense. But may not. Perhaps some rich, dead, normal, white guy’s foundation.

‘Was she dropped on her head?’ Feminist shrieks about sexual intercourse;

She sounds like a sexual abuse survivor and is obviously filled with a very deep rage. It is very sad, and I hope she seeks and benefits from therapy about it.

But clearly there are a lot of women who enjoy "PIV" sex and, in fact, prefer it over other types of sexual activity.

This poor lady is projecting like crazy.

The truth came out about many of these nutty male-hating femi-nazis....a great many of them turned out to be lesbians who simply wanted all women for themselves. Men were not to lust after women, but it was perfectly alright for lesbians to lust after women....including using pornography to satisfy their lust. Of course, males using female-oriented pornography was evil. See the logic in this feminist discourse? Neither do I.
