Big Labor: Eat only 'union-made' for Labor Day BBQ
The Washington Examiner's Washington Secrets ^ | September 1, 2014 | Paul Bedard

Posted on 09/01/2014 10:01:00 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Labor Day is no time for a non-union barbecue, says the nation’s labor movement.

To help the shoppers, Big Labor has issued a list of union-made food and drinks that should be served at the backyard feast today.

“Labor Day is the unofficial end of the summer holiday season. While the day honors the hardworking men and women who make this nation go and grow, the weekend also gives us a chance for one more big backyard barbecue blowout. Here’s some union-made food and drink to get your barbecue off to a great start,” said the AFL-CIO.

They forwarded the list drawn up by Union Plus, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers (BCTGM), the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor's website Labor 411.

Excellent, this is a very handy list (if someone is looking for a list of union-made foods to avoid).

BTW, I don't think I've bought a Heinz product since Mister Kerry ran for POTUS.

Ketchup is ketchup, although I’m sure some here will disagree. I buy what’s on sale.

Most days I wouldn’t give it much thought, but since Labor Day is quasi-commie in nature, on that day in particular, it gives me great pleasure to do the opposite of whatever they say to do.

I don’t see Nathan’s Famous or Ingelhoffer mustard on that list. Ha. I win.

Unions? It is against my religious principles to eat the Unions chief product which is ‘bull excrement’.

Tough shiite.

Ate fish caught by local independent fisherman. Fish did not even pass by any government inspection agency before I cooked it. That has to be illegal!

No unions, no government.....

Apparently union members are the customers most likely to be able to afford to buy these products for the holiday.

There should be a “market day” when you can buy anything, or provide any service, without paying any taxes on the proceeds. The Egyptians had days that were not on their calendars.

The fish was "Ono", which is of course Hawaiian for good. My favorite fish since we do not get Halibut or northern Swordfish reliably.

Tried a Roy Yamaguchi (Roy's) recipe for the first time and almost messed up with getting the oil too hot. Made a good save with the crust just a bit too browned, but the vinaigrette came out great with the fish not overcooked.

Love me my local caught fish.

Hmm. I love Wheat Thins. But I can live without them. Everything else on that list is kaput. Gone. Not that I buy much of anything from those brands anyway. I refuse to support any business run by a group of people that hate me and the country. These unions LOVE the illegals and the business owners that remain union LOVE that the illegals keep the wages cheap. Any workers that get hurt by any boycott? Well, your union bosses don’t care anyway and don’t mind replacing you with an illegal immigrant.

“BTW, I don’t think I’ve bought a Heinz product since Mister Kerry ran for POTUS.”

I’m the same way - I don’t use much Ketchup, but immediately switched to Hunt’s.

I do like Hidden Valley Ranch, guess I’ll have to switch.

The country needs a database of ‘union free’ businesses and products. You know, sort of like ‘pesticide free.’

Lets see! I made a Chili Relleno casserole, fried rice, guacamole and refried beans. Topped that off with a few Dos Equis. Oh and the hamburger meat was from a nice buck my wife shot last year mixed with bacon and jalapenos.
