Sometimes, people get convinced theyre right.
So, when I had a problem with a program, I often sat down and explained it to another person, line-by-line. Most often, I found my mistake pretty quickly.

Just saying sometimes when a person thinks theyre correct, it helps to go through it step-by-step.
Usually, it helps.

On the opposite end of the scale, pilots will trust instruments to the point, sometimes, on rare occasion, that the instrument has failed and is leading them into grave error.
Such was the 737 that went down in a South American jungle many years ago. The electric horizon failed, but the mechanical old one was still working. They apparently never looked at the old mechanical one.

You and I can see that we’re in a functionally illiterate world. And it’s getting worse. PC is increasing and logic and common sense are diminishing.
When my wife and I transferred to NM, my wife had her Alaskan license and they used to have SSNs on them. If you refused to allow them to print your social, the license had 000-00-0000.
The girl at the counter asked how my wife ended up with that number for her SSN.
I would have responded: “By a strange coincidence, it’s quite similar to the one Barak Obalmya uses.”
