Mitch McConnell responds to Alison Lundergan Grimes’ gun ad in devastating fashion
Washington Post Blog ^ | September 16, 2014 | Philip Bump

Posted on 09/16/2014 8:33:38 PM PDT by Republican Wildcat

Grimes consistently trails in the polling, in part because McConnell has effectively made the race about Obama. Grimes campaign manager Jonathan Hurst offered the Post a statement that addressed that, in part. "In a sign of weakness, Mitch McConnell’s campaign scurried to respond directly to our latest strong ad underscoring just how worried Mitch McConnell is seven weeks from Election Day," Hurst said. So,y eah, on the surface, this is a race about guns and gun use. But it's really about whether or not Grimes is an Obama clone, thanks to McConnell's very effective framing. Meaning that by releasing her gun ad, Grimes basically walked right into McConnell's strategy.

That GIF up there is what it looks like when a trap is sprung.

Yep. Kentucky needs not-Grimes.

And, the way the two-party system works, that means Mitch. Drag him over the finish line!

Both of these Kentucky douchebags can pound sand

Exactly.

We're screwed no matter which one of those two douchebags gets the seat. Conservatism will fare worse with McConnell in there since he declared war on us and vowed to ' crush us wherever he found us' making sure Conservatives have no ability to field any candidates in a general election.

At least with Grimes, we know who the enemy is. We won't have ourselves sold out via stealth and sabotaged at every turn by our so-called "leader".

We're not better off with McConnell in there anymore than with Grimes in there. It's a crap sandwich being force-fed to us.

I'm not buying their lunch anymore. Write in a Conservative. Screw the oligarchy.

“WTH? A Republican fights back???”

Odd, all of the Republican “Advisers” (most of them gay, by the way) were telling McConnell to not attack Obama and Grimes, because that would turn off the black and woman’s vote. Instead, McConnell should have spend his campaign talking about all the great things that Congress has done, with him in charge of the Republicans in the Senate. The Republican “Advisers” (most of them gay, by the way) told McConnell that structuring his campaign that was a SURE WINNER.

...except McConnell didn’t listen. Maybe he doesn’t trust those Republican “Advisers” (most of them gay, by the way) as much as the other Republican candidates.

Mitch McConnell vs Alison Grimes? It’s a no brainer. Mitch has an A rating from the NRA and is rated 100% by NRLC. and he’s one more seat closer to a senate majority which is a heck of a lot better than one more seat farther away.

Whatever happened to individual thinking? Most posts seem to have been written by the same person. Is FR becoming another echo chamber.

You know, if McConnell wins, I’m OK with it, like, I wont be upset or anything.

But if he loses? Well, I’m OK with that, too.

Nope. We're done with being perpetual battered wives of the GOP.

Did you miss where McConnell declared WAR on Conservatives and vowed to 'crush' us wherever we are found and ensure Conservatives are not able to have a single candidate on the ballot in the General Election???

You want us to hold our nose and vote for THAT?

HELL NO.

We're screwed no matter which of these clowns gets in, and screwed no matter if the GOP takes the Senate.

Or have you not been paying attention to what McConnell said he was going to do to hand BACK power to the Democrats?

There is a third option, which I already know is not popular with those who worship the cult of personality that is the GOP.

David Patterson for U.S. Senate

David Patterson is officially on the ballot with the Libertarian Party. He is a policeman, author and lifelong Kentuckian.

I’ll look into him. I’ve learned to be overtly cautious with Libertarians - because many of them are NOT Conservative except on fiscal issues.

I was planning to write-in a Conservative in November, so we will see where Patterson is at on things besides what his campaign site says about him.

If he is a true Conservative, I might fill in his box.

You will always be a loser. Politics is the art of compromise. You can stand and scream purity of thought and be on the outside where you can affect no change or advance your agenda whatsoever. If the republicans get control of the Senate then your issues get a fairer hearing. Voting you pious views gets you the feeling that all curmudgeons get. You are a one trick pony and will always be a loser, carping and whining on web sites like FR. Take care of that hard on you have for McConnell.

You will always be a loser.

Coming from the likes of you - I'll take that compliment, thanks.

Politics is the art of compromise.

Yes, the GOP leadership has demonstrated how to compromise liberty with tyranny and how to compromise a republic for a MarxoFascist tyranny, very, very well.

Righteous liberty never compromises with evil or tyranny.

Your party does both. Which makes them both.

You can stand and scream purity of thought and be on the outside where you can affect no change or advance your agenda whatsoever.

The GOP leadership showed Conservatives that principles have no place in the GOP. They even declared war on them and vowed to crush them wherever they were found. What that means, is that there is NO CHANCE to advance Conservatism in the GOP INSIDE the party.

So for Conservatism to survive, it will have to go elsewhere and let the GOP go the way of the Whigs - which is the course their leadership has set it.

If the republicans get control of the Senate then your issues get a fairer hearing.

Bullshiite. 20 years of history and the total GOP control of government proves that a flat-out lying turd. "We will crush them wherever we find them" "They will not be able to have a single candidate on the ballot" - Mitch McConnell.

Voting you pious views gets you the feeling that all curmudgeons get.

What are you going to do about it? Put a gun to our heads and make us vote for your Statists simply because of the letter after their name? Your stupid attempts at shame and ridicule only strengthen our resolve and illustrate we are doing the right thing.

You are a one trick pony and will always be a loser,

Says the imbecile voting for the Ruling Class oligarchs like Romney, McCain, McConnell and the Rovian ilk.

Take care of that hard on you have for McConnell.

He nurtured it well. I loathe him and his ilk more than I do the MarxoFascists. He wanted to make Conservatives like me an enemy, and declare war on us - well, he got his wish and all your stupid attempts at ridicule and shame make me smile inside and laugh at you and your dying party.

I'm doing my part in Kentucky to make sure McConnell loses.

burroak, the battered wife.

McConnell, the Traitor. Vowed to ‘Crush’ us wherever he found us. Said he is working to make sure we never have another Conservative candidate on the ballot in a general election.

Only a diseased and sick person that loves abuse and rape would vote for a man who publicly declared war on you and your beliefs.

You don’t have any idea who I am and to spew such invective and make such extreme characterizations on a forum such as this indicates some break with reality.

As to who I am, I am a Grimes born near Elizabethtown, Hardin Cty, KY and raised in the Cumberland mountains.

Alison is a relative of mine, but it too important for the Republicans to control the Senate to let the old “blood is thicker than water” bromide ‘of any use. Now that is an example of practicing the art of compromise.

invar, the kamikaze, references the wrong war. You have the language, single mindedness, and wrong hardheadedness of a more current time.

I think you are invar, the hillbilly jihadi.

That's amusing considering what you posted to this thread and what you just said. Methinks you projecteth too much - just like Democrats do. You accuse that of which you, yourself engage in.

Alison is a relative of mine

So Fascism runs in the family. Hooray for you.

but it too important for the Republicans to control the Senate to let the old “blood is thicker than water” bromide ‘of any use. Now that is an example of practicing the art of compromise.

No, that is an example of practicing insanity. If you think McConnell is going to do anything different than what he has already demonstrated in terms of enabling Obama's agenda at the same time pretending he is against it, while sabotaging Conservatives, you are totally delusional.

invar, the kamikaze, references the wrong war.

That was your own derogatory title, blame yourself there. Funny how you Party hacks refuse to acknowledge the fact that when it comes to 'war' - McConnell DECLARED war on Conservatives and vowed to crush us 'wherever they are found'.

As an analogy to a different war; McConnell makes Benedict Arnold look like a piker in terms of the damage he has done to Conservatives, the very people he supposedly leads and 'fights for'.

We remember what McConnell did for Thad in Mississippi among many other offenses and impositions of corruption and tyranny.

But you and your ilk do not address what McConnell has said and done, you are too busy 'compromising' with evil and tyranny because a letter besides someone's name is more important than liberty to people like you.

You have the language, single mindedness, and wrong hardheadedness of a more current time.

There was a reason I opined that people like you would entertain the idea of putting a gun to our heads and making us pull the lever for your party bosses or else.

I think you are invar, the hillbilly jihadi.

Since fascists run in your family, it is not surprising you would join them in declaring Christian Conservatives who refuse to think like you and support your chosen Big Government Statist, 'jihadis'.

But hey, the Oligarchy is playing for keeps and their stormtroopers are so willing to do their master's bidding.
