Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins personally escorted the family of Ebola carrier Thomas Duncan to a 4 bedroom spacious home in a gated community Friday. It’s where they will live, miles away from their cramped apartment in Dallas while under quarantine.

“I’m wearing the same shirt I was when I was in the car for 45 minutes today with that family,” said Jenkins about the car ride. “If there was any risk, I wouldn’t expose myself or my family,” he said during Friday’s press conference where city and county leaders called the move necessary.

“Where they were living was a terrible place. And we are more decent than that,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings....

Something like that, yes. They actually, in this case, could put up these exposed people in a large medical isolation tent on the grounds of a hospital or perhaps even a VA hospital (the older ones tend to have large grounds). Give them all the TVs and entertainment they need, feed them, and monitor them. It would be safer for them and safer for everyone else, and if they were being regularly monitored in a controlled environment, they would certainly have a better chance of getting timely treatment.

As for the cost, we’re going to be paying for them one way or another, and in fact, I assume the state or federal govt is already paying for most of them now. It will be much more costly if this gets out into the general population and it is also, already, destroying what little trust people had in our agencies and services.

Picture this

Someone owns a house next door to you

A convicted pedophile needs a place to live

Owner of the house decides to rent to him

Would this upset you?

Fish don’t fry in the kitchen;
Beans don’t burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin’
Just to get up that hill.
Now we’re up in the big leagues
Gettin’ our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it’s you and me baby
There ain’t nothin wrong with that.

Well we’re movin’ on up (movin on up)
To the east side (movin on up)
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin’ on up (movin on up)
To the east side (movin on up)
We finally got a piece of the pie.

Imagine living in that hood now. The family should be at the hospital in an isolation ward. Not in the general public.

The way to protect yourself in that case is to not to live next to rental property.

However, if such an event were to occur, I would investigate, be cautious, warn my kids and take necessary actions if that person acted in a manner that concerned me.

But, I would not advocate laws that dictate to the landlord who he must rent to and who he cannot rent to.

Only good thing about the sex offendor is you can lock your doors.

If he sneezes near you as you are leaving you probably won’t die.

Both situations would suck.

Ebola is a whole nuther can of worms though. I would be very afraid if I were their neighbors. Hell, I live a couple thousand miles away and I’m afraid.

The thing is-they keep turnong all these people loose who were exposed. They were exposed to all manner of bodily fluid that is a certainty. In a very confined space. If that is true they are almost certain to be infected shortly.

Would you like to live next door to ebola victims? Don’t talk about property rights unless you’d be willing to live next door. Do the airline owners have a “right” to fly these people all over the world on their planes when doing so could spread the disease all over the earth?

This ebola thing is one area where we do have to act for the hated “common good”.

“Would you like to live next door to ebola victims?”

As of this moment, the people in question are not Ebola victims. But, to answer your question, if I lived in a village in Liberia with no running water, sanitation and in extremely close proximity to Ebola victims in a shanty, I would be concerned. In the developed world where there is plumbing, sanitation, and space between homes with walls, roofs and floors that were not dirt and not susceptible to encroachment of sewage, I would have no concern of being infected.

Living in a developed world is a two edged sword.

Sure we have great healthcare, better housing, better hygiene.

We can also travel with great ease and spread disease farther.

All this globalism hasn’t really been so swell because now we have hemorrhagic disease and beheadings on American soil.

I used to think I wouldn’t worry too much about muslims unless I lived in Africa or the ME.

These things are here now and growing by the day.

If you’re not worried, more power to you.

All this madness is really starting to frighten me though.

“Do the airline owners have a “right” to fly these people all over the world on their planes when doing so could spread the disease all over the earth?”

Disease spread from continent to continent long before the advent of aviation and while we could cease flights from W. Africa to the US for a short amount of time, we cannot cease flights from Europe, Asia, Australia and South America as that would devastate our economy.

Stopping flights from W. Africa would only be symbolic and not effective as people can transit from Liberia to Europe and then hop a flight to the US.

Okay so we can’t stop the flights. (I’m sure they could find a way if they wanted to though-no fly list comes to mind)

Do we quarantine new arrivals or just turn them loose and pray it will all be okay?

If any of these folks develop Ebola during the quarantine the rest must remain quarantined for 21 more days.

You must live in Ft. Worth.

I live far north of Ft. Worth, not in Tarrant County. Sadly, even Cowtown, once a nice place, is getting filled with holderites, criminal wetbacks and others of the thug-type profile. There are still some good places left in Tarrant County but Conservatives and Christians are being squeezed out. Earlier this summer in Sundance Square, I saw two women kissing. Absolutely disgusting! That wouldn't have happened as recently as 20 years ago.

The fact that the satanic Wendy Davis even exists is evidence of just how far the downward spiral has take us.

The reality is that all of the cities of Texas as atheistic sewers. Even in America's finest state, we're not immune to the plague that Thomas Jefferson predicted:

I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get plied upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe.

Yeah, put them in a gated community...free to wash their virus down the drain into the public sewer system that vents into the air - oh, that’s right, people still are living the lie it is not airborn.

Don’t bother to gather up their waste - there is no threat, right. Go ahead, throw those snotty tissues in the trash to be hauled around town, dripping out of the garbage trucks all over the public roads.
