Shealynn Stillman and Charley Gittins made history Friday night, becoming the first same-sex couple in their school's history to be crowned homecoming princesses, and perhaps even the first in their county.
The couple, who identify as pansexual, have been dating for for approximately 12 months. They said that they do not consider gender important in choosing a partner.
The school, Maria Carrillo High School of California, broke tradition and presented the winning couple with two shimmering tiaras instead of a crown and a tiara.
The crowd knew that Stillman and Gittins had won when, instead of announcing that a "prince and princess" had won, the loudspeakers said that two "princesses" had instead. The couple went on stage, were presented with their tiaras, and then embraced, flowers in hand.
Stillman and Gittins said that the victory was a dream come true, and stated that they were "the only openly gay couple on campus."

I looked up pansexual at wiki and am more confused than I was before. They aren’t bisexual because bi means two and they are attracted to all instead of just two. Bottom line, intead of voting for Homecoming King and Queen, they voted for the two most likely to rack up the most time in therapy.

I was being somewhat sarcastic given these matters usually emanate from either coasts primarily, before they spread elsewhere. That’s all. I’m quite aware after seeing America turn upside over the past 5 decades. I don’t recognize it much any more. A tragedy of enormous consequences that will continue to play out. I’m in the Midwest epicenter, Chicago area, and see it spreading from the bowels of a once great city, that has been in the grip of the democrat party since 1931, uninterrupted. Madness, utter madness. Awaiting God’s wrath at some point. We are traditionalists, somewhat small in number, who maintain what we can and pass it on to our children, but so many others are truly lost. Pathetic and costly, with no end in sight. But we don’t give up and hope for the best, as God-centered people always do, through out history.
