An open letter to Roger Ailes: Please, PLEASE, for the love of God, take Juan Williams off the air.
one man's opinion...

Posted on 11/05/2014 4:45:43 AM PST by ken5050

Dear Mr. Ailes...You have had a brilliant, and highly successful career. You helped with Reagan's 1984 victory, and that of GWH Bush in 1988. You created FOX News from nothing, and guided it to the ratings behemoth it is today, while finally giving conservatives a reliable source of news, and a voice for our beliefs. You've blessed us with Megyn Kelly, as well as a bevy of bodacious blond beauties. Inevitably, you've made a few mistakes along the way, but you've always realized them, and most importantly..MOVED SWIFTLY TO RECTIFY THEM...

"the voters were in an anti-incumbent mood."

That is the unshakeable talking point of the Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda. To a simple creature like Juan, it must sound like a magic incantation designed to have the DC3s deliver cargo.

Yeah that guy is a Docktor alright. He has about as much sense as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. You can see the race baiting wheels turning in his head as he speaks.

I am convinced that Fox News has lefties, like Yawn Williams, Tubby Beckel, ALoser Colmes, Whorealdo Rivera, on the air is so they can reveal the vivid contrasts between liberals and conservatives more easily.

Williams always seems perplexed with a permanent furrowed brow on his forehead, seemingly not being able to fathom or understand the conservatives opinion or point of view. He appears simple-minded at times. Beckel is a slug who barely stays up with the conversation on The Five, but when he does wake up, he goes apoplectic with his unintelligible rants and anger. I expect to see him go into cardiac arrest sometime soon on the air, as he chokes on his own liberal drivel. The rest of the group patronize him and treat him dismissively as they would the oddball, wacky uncle sitting in the far corner of the room at family gatherings. O’Really? manages to slap Colmes down every time he has him on, dismissing him as someone who’s opinions nobody wants to listen to. And Rivera is just so much BS that he self-caractures himself as the guy who is always on the wrong side of the argument. He noticeably strains to twist himself into a pretzel to defend the liberal arguments.

So I think Roger Ailes has a method to his madness by having these loser lefties on the air. They just show how idiotic and moronic being a liberal is, in contrast to conservatives. It highlights their weaknesses and wrongness without having to explain it to folks watching. They are there for the whole viewing audience to mock and call names to as foils for the straight conservatives players that surround them. It makes for great theater. And of course, it allows them to say they’re “Fair and Balanced” by having the token liberals on. Ailes knows how to stage these shows so they increase their audience share, even if it means having the dimwits that you can throw tomatoes at or your shoe at the TV screen. I believe he knows what he is doing, rather than the opposite.

Brit Hume asked but he didn’t push it when Beckel said “It’s not hard”. WTH?

Fox News has an obvious slant to the right. However, using people like Beckel and Williams and the other liberal commentators gives us ammunition to counteract the left’s accusations that Fox is totally on the take. I read the latest book regarding Ailes. He’s fiercely loyal to his friends. And (GASP!) some of his closest friends are libs. It happens when you live in NYC. I should know.

...”No, you have to keep somebody like Juan around. He epitomizes why liberals are so wrong and validates the argument for conservative policy.”...

I totally understand the frustration with Juan Williams..I sometimes want to throw my shoe at the TV when he is on. However, I agree with you. I think the effect of his statements serve to turn more people off than on to the liberal left view. I guess I give him more of a pass because he has a young son who is very conservative. Someone in that household must be doing something right..Could it be the Mom?

Kudos! Not only a careful, well thought out analysis, but a well written one. You have a nice style...and a well turned phrase.

I may not have made my point as well as I should have. I'm not objecting to Williams' views...FOX doesn't want to be MSNBC...it's just that Juan, well..Gertrude Stein put it best.."there's no there, there.."

I'd rather see a Van Jones in Juan's spot..

Juan Williams and Bob Beckel have done more to convert voters to the conservative cause than 90% of the Republican leadership. This is particularly true of Beckel....when he goes off with his idiotic spiels and has to apologize for his liberal rants it shows how phony the liberal agenda is.

Juan Williams is hired specifically to represent the democrat party in debates. There are times, like when talking about freedom of the press, that Juan is excellent.

But, like Alan Colmes, he refuses to give in when he’s losing an argument and gets out into illogical land trying to grasp at any straw he can. Just because he can, he shouldn’t. He should follow the wiser example of Kirsten Powers who knows when to back down. Not that she doesn’t have an occasional propagandish point that she tries to make.

So, they can’t replace Juan. But they do need to talk to him about irrationality. His attempt to say last night was not a wave, you could tell even he wasn’t buying what he was saying.

I don't know how you guys can watch FOX news at all .... There's not a conservative on the channel

It has become a sounding board for the GOP establishment and equally inane liberals

Name one conservative on FOX News

Krauthammer??? Walter Mondale's speechwriter likes to surround himself with liberals so he can appear conservative by contrast ... Hannity ???? ...shill for the GOP Establishment and needs brain dead liberals to make himself sound tough .... Ted Baxter ??? please ...... it goes downhill from there

.

I agree. The great thing about Fox is they allow plenty of opposition to express their opposition. Juan is an okay guy. At least he is not a narcissist like Dufus Geraldo.

Powers was clearly shocked at the outcome last night. She had a hard time spewing the talking points and was even stuttering at one point.

I look at him as a giant, sleeping, Sloth that has to be poked with a stick to wake him up to join the panel.

Giant, sleeping, Sloths don’t like that.
