One Man Found a Mysterious Box in a Dumpster – What was in it was Absolutely Baffling...

-The box was handmade from wood, fit with hinges, a handle and a pair of locks.

-From what was written here, it appears that the author had an experience that was definitely not from here.

-A hand-drawn table of the elements.

-This patent is not filed with the United States Patent Office – but the drawings are remarkably detailed. But this is not the weirdest part…

-Oddly, this map shows air travel routes.

- lot of the maps are hand-drawn with a “center” noted on it.

-The maps represent aerial patterns and/or routes of some type.

The gang at “Pawn Stars” would have an “expert-buddy” dissect the situation.

I have a Fourth Grade Reader text book from 1918. Today it's a college level reader.

It should surprise nobody that there were much more educated and well versed individuals at the turn of the 1800's into the 1900's per capita than there are today.

Pretty cool and weird stuff. But hey, the Coca-Cola had real coke in it back then.

Most I guess circa 1947? With the VA document, maybe this was a WWII PTSD patient? In any case, this is a 9 on a scale of 10 on the Creepy Meter.

I am perplexed about most of it. Vivid imagination? Disturbed? I am sure the History Channel guy with the funky hair has an option too.

I didn’t read every scrap, but this collection includes stuff dating from no earlier than 1980. A lot of it seems to draw connections between UFO’s and the Bible, specifically events described in Ezekiel. This was nothing new at the time.

The four creatures depicted together are genie. Ancient doorways in Assyria would be guarded by creatures who were amalgams of a bull, an eagle, a lion, and a man. The man is always depicted bearded with a headdress like those worn by Assyrian men.

There are many illuminated gospel books depicting the four as inspiring genie for the four men - Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John - who authored the Gospels.

The page with the drawings of angelic beings reminded me of the Mothman descriptions and drawings in the papers in the Galipolis OH area back around the time of the Silver Bridge collapse. I was a child but I remember all the uproar.

Good explanation, but to tie these to detailed engineering drawings, and elaborate maps, just ups the strangeness factor though.

These headlines are so childish. Sounds like something you would typically read at Yahoo.com

Not really.

Appears to be some kept drawings by somebody with a bent for mechanical drafting and for post WWII SciFi/comics.

The box is a typical WWII vintage map case.
Circular drawings were typical WWII aviation navigator generated toolsets.

Looks like the person wan preoccupied with aerial routes of UFOs in his personal investigations. Nothing beyond then state of the art to a layman.

It’s amazing what some people will doodle to avoid “death by powerpoint”, or whatever was the precursor to powerpoint back then.

I'll offer you $5.00 for it.

"Well, You know I'd have to have it cleaned up and sorted and framed AND there just aren't that many buyers out looking for this kind of item so it would sit in My store forever before it sold. If it even did sell, I'd barely make any money on it. And I'm running a business here not a charity house."

I can’t speak to the authenticity or value of the patent drawings, but the other sketches show some talent and ability, and are clearly referencing Biblical descriptions.

It’s a bit of a peculiar mashup, though. The presumably angelic being is cloven hoofed, which throws the whole thing into an entirely different, demonic light, one that is not exactly friendly to Christianity while obviously obsessed with it simultaneously.

Nation Of Islam, imho. Mothership, wheels within wheels, all the wildest prophetic visions and descriptions from the Bible, but warped.

There is a peculiar neologism in one of the handwritten documents that jumped out at me, “interrelationship,” combining “interpolation” and “interrelationship.” That also makes me think of the sort of person who would be Nation Of Islam, a fascination with multisyllabic nickel words but not entirely rigorous in the understanding of them or the proper use of them.

Autocorrect got hold of the neologism I referenced and “corrected” it. Should have been “interpelationship.”

I was watching the show “Curse of Oak Island” about the guys treasure hunting there. Interesting stuff. They had a guy from Sweden come over with his “discovery” that the first published works of Shakespeare had a code in it. One code referenced to the constellation the northern cross and at a specific date and time. The cross was directly over Oak Island (so a GPS route thing).

Then, there was a code for the diagram of the “Tree of Life” - a 10-pointed figure with various names for the various points. The guy said that the “mercy” point would solve the riddle of Oak Island. But that was right in the swamp.

“Well - we have five of the points that form the cross that was found back in 1942. Let’s find a point not in the swamp.” Based on his calculation they paced 182 feet to the south of the southern most rock already found. They had to search around a few feet, but found another similar rock half buried. Once they dug it out it was similar in form to the others, and had a triangular etching on the bottom.

A random glacial rock that just happened to be in line - or something that Shakespeare had known about? (Of course, the guy couldn’t hang around to strengthen his theory by pacing out to a second rock. I guess he had a plane to catch.)

My dad graduated from San Diego High School in 1918 and what he had in high school was equivalent to a PHD today.

I’m not a fan of David Halperin, but he’s spent a lot of time thinking about this box...

“The name of the artist appears in the box’s papers as Daniel Christiansen, sometimes also as “Nesna-it-sirhc”–which, it took me longer than it should have to realize, is “Christiansen” spelled backward. His home, it’s clear from these documents, was St. Petersburg, Florida.”

Part 1... http://www.davidhalperin.net/tag/mathias-merian/

Part 2... http://www.davidhalperin.net/the-box-of-crazy-ufos-and-ezekiels-vision-part-2/

Halperin has some interesting theories....seems maybe the guy saw a Laser Light Show and thought he was seeing the second coming of Ezekiel....or something!?!
