Will play by the rules, contribute financially, contribute to discussion and posting (not my stuff except for the truly original stuff, as per the links you just sent) and hopefully be a valuable part of the FreeRepublic community.
But I nevertheless still think “blogslut” or “blogstreetwalker” makes more sense than “blogpimp.”
Blogpimp is the correct term as they are pimping their blog.
Much like a pimp and his hookers.

I understand the whole objection to it and all, but that’s not my point now that we seem to have resolved the “main issue.”
The problem is with the terminology, namely that one can’t be a “pimp” when the same person doing the selling is the same person as the product. Again, as opposed to a “streetwalker” or general unaffiliated prostitute, who of course both (1) knocks on the car door in a seedy part of town and (2) provides the actual service.
You fail to understand: Pimps try to force traffic FROM FR to THEIR link for hits.
Service has NOTHING to do with it.
You know how many idiots with blogs show up and claim they have a “service”?
The response is “Yeah, so does a funeral home.”
No, I understand completely. But you’re not getting the analogy. The would-be johns would be the equivalent of the users of FR, correct?
FreeRepublic would be analogous to, say, a convention site where hookers hang around. You’re with me here?
A PIMP would be someone who hangs around the convention to encourage a would-be john to purchase the services of a prostitute aka ANOTHER PERSON. A blogpimp would, for a fee, hang around FR and then get a cut of the blogger (analogous to the prostitue)’s revenue.
As opposed to a STREETWALKER/INDEPENDENT PROSTITUTE, who would be analogous to both the person on FreeRepublic driving traffic and the blogger.
