GOVERNOR PALIN, PLEASE RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT IN 2016
FREE REPUBLIC | 11 DECEMBER 2014 | EEE

Posted on 12/11/2014 7:13:59 PM PST by Extremely Extreme Extremist

Governor Palin,

If you or a member of your family is lurking here, please take some time to consider running for President of the United States - as an Independent candidate.

- Only you, Mrs. Palin, can clean up the filthy corruption in Washington D.C. To get rid of the lobbyists and ruling class that penalizes everyday, working Americas while they and their advisors, consultants, and millionaire donors continue to get ever richer.

- Only you can promote using our energy resources, which will in turn create high-paying jobs and rebuild the middle-class of America.

- Only you can secure our borders and stop amnesty, and make our melting pot work its magic once again.

Please begin laying the groundwork for an independent run for President. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER RUNNING AS A REPUBLICAN. The Republican Party, once again, has betrayed its fellow countrymen. We gave them 2 landslide mid-term elections and they blew it again.

Prepare your presidential run behind the scenes. Start coordinating with state secretaries to get on the ballot ahead of time so there's no dirty tricks when 2016 rolls around. Then announce your candidacy on live television during primetime hours (See if you can rent out the AT&T Stadium in North Texas) on August 29, 2015 - which is your wedding anniversary and will electrify America as it did exactly 7 years ago.

Sincerely yours,

Extremely Extreme Extremist (Real name withheld for obvious reasons)

No, a third-party is the last thing we need. It would only assure domination by Democrats for at least a generation. America is a two party system because of the winner take all nature of national and statewide elections such as elections for Senator. To run a third-party is to abandon the machinery of the Republican Party and to court defeat.

That is not to say that revolt should not occur at the primary level, or in the contest for speakership, or for Majority Leader of the Senate, or for inferior offices in both places, in fact, everywhere except in general elections.

Sarah Palin would serve conservatism far better to put her considerable talents behind the Article V movement or to run for Senate in Alaska at the primary level against Murkowski.

Ultimately, the only solution for conservatism which is doomed by a tsunami of illegal immigrants, a fifth column in our national media, a subversive educational establishment, and a Devil's deal with K St. and Wall Street, is to run around end, reform Washington not from inside where it is impossible but from outside in the state legislatures where there is at least some chance of overcoming these overwhelming forces. There is no hope of any third party movement at the general election level (except perhaps in isolated examples to oust the likes of Boehner or McConnell), it only weakens us.

Article V!

I think if I had a choice between Hillary and Jeb, and have to physically force myself to not vote for Hillary, and I’d rather cut off my own hands than vote for Hillary.

Its tough in a world of Rinos isn’t it. However, a revolution wont be won by Palin. Unfortunately, if she ran, the ruthless cutthroat, character assassinating agenda driven media would go into a full blown relentless attack mode once again. Their goal is to destroy her, her husband, children, and anyone else close to her.

The liberal press has managed already to make Sarah Palin damaged goods as a Presidential candidate, third party or otherwise. And, respectfully saying, I believe you know that.
Maybe a new and real red blooded conservative will arrive on the scene. That’s our only realistic hope.

I’m sure happy that your crystal ball is clearer than mine! Without your guidance we would all be screwed!

No. But I understand the frustrations of all the conservatives. I will not make a snap decision on this event and wail all around the house.

If we expect a SOLUTION, we must work inside the Republican party. There’s no other way.

The 2008 election? I prefer the numbers for the ‘12 election, that gave us Obama for another term. It was a victory for the Freepers.

I agree that your analysis could work, but I don’t think it will work as the pols are entrenched and have a voting base to stay that way. Not to mention how they watch each others’ backs, vote “no,” vote “yes,” then cry, “See I tried to stop it.”

My opinion is the only way(s) to fix this is either a third party, or your basic out with the old and in with the new in D.C.

The next few years will be absolutely fascinating.

We are actually screwed without an untainted new real conservative choice who has a chance of winning.

Very unlikely that she will ever run for Senator in Alaska. If that is what she wanted to do, she would have opposed Begich and won easily.

She is the only Republican with both the name identification and the b@lls to turn this country around, that is if she is still a Republican after this fiasco.

We need Ted Cruz in the Senate and eventually on the Supreme Court, where a President Palin would put him in a heartbeat.

“I prefer the numbers for the ‘12 election, that gave us Obama for another term. It was a victory for the Freepers.”

I'm missing your point here, especially the second sentence.

SWAG: I quickly ran the numbers here http://www.fec.gov/pubrec/fe2012/2012presgeresults.pdf and it looks like Romney lost by about 4 million votes and there were about 2 million third party votes.

“Only you “

That is insulting to the other conservatives that have stayed in the fight and have won, such as Ted Cruz.

I agree with your assessment that it could work but probably won't work but not for the same reason you advance. The idea of moving the fight to the state legislatures is to do battle on more favorable ground, where the same forces which overcome us in Washington are not so strong.

That is not to say that state legislators have more virtue than federal legislators, I believe they are equally corrupt but they are corrupted in a different way. We don't escape human nature by moving the battle to the state legislatures we simply fight a different kind of war and with a different set of players.

The real appeal to them is the same appeal in Washington, to acquire power. To get that power they will have to take it away from Washington and bring it home. It will divide power and restore Montesquieu's vision of separation of powers.

Even so, I am pessimistic unless we are visited by a Black Swan which breaks open the box we are in.

I would gladly vote for Palin, or any other Conservative, as 3rd party.

Even if they played the spoiler.

A Rino Presidency will only pull the GOP further left, and further the marginalizing of Conservatives.

I suggested that we launch a third party years ago.

If we had launched a Conservative Party (or similar name) before the recent mid-terms, we could have taken a few seats and broken our maiden, (horse racing term) and maybe attracted a few big names to boot. Then we would not be a ticket-splitting third party for 2016 but instead we’d come in as an established force to be reckoned with. I still think a lot of true conservatives would love to have a party to call home, which the GOP isn’t.

With this late start, we might indeed split the ticket. Damn.

I got the message loud and clear from the GOP. And they told me to kiss their ass. I won't be voting republican until the GOP gets a message, and the only way to do that is to remove them from office, or at least a good portion of them.

These bastards just gave Obama all the money he wanted to run obamacare, and thus, piss on the Constitution which they took an oath to uphold. He also told the military to kiss his ass...the people who keep us free. The GOP must learn a hard lesson before they start representing those who elected them.

And why on earth would the pubes elect Boner as speaker? He does not have any fire in the belly unless he is at a bar. Someone, PLEASE, run against that idiot.

Given what Bonehead just did, I (and I suspect many former Repubs) will be looking for a new party.

FUJB.

May you commit seppuku soon.
