Has any GOP Governor opposed the Boehner amnesty budget?

Posted on 12/12/2014 5:04:58 PM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

Has Scott Walker or Mike Pence come out to oppose the Ryan-Stutzman amnesty budget? Jindal told Ingraham they should defund amnesty and Jindal has a reputation as being the most liberal of the 3.

Most the other Governors are liberals. Be funny if Chris Christie has some objection to some minor part of the bill.

When the speaker opposes the will of the majority party, the majority of the majority party should vote him out as speaker. Come January, this needs to get done or we will have 2 more years of this crap.

The idea that republicans oppose big government spending is a myth. The only thing that matters to them is who gets to do the spending.

But a large majority of the Republican House members voted ‘yay.’

The same people who elect the Speaker.

Actually, I have a sneaking suspicion that is the reason why this sweetheart budget for the remainder of the FY was rushed through. Come January, the Republican Party will control both houses of Congress and the new and returning conserative Republican Congressmen may just show Mr. Boehner the door. So the time is now if he wants to broker any sort of backscratching, log rolling deals with his Democratic pals in the Senate and the Kenyan...er, President.

Bonehead has pretty much ensured the first year hasn't he? I have seen no explanation anywhere for his actions to date.

I don’t think he is doing this because he believes he won’t be speaker. He does want to do it now because he knows in January he will have a lot harder time of it in the House, and the Senate will be less likely to agree. He really wants this kind of spending, does not care about amnesty or how Obama did it, and is more dangerous to conservatives than Obama is, because he keeps conservatives from being able to do anything about Obama, whereas Obama could not.

Pretty much. Of course, every single one of them is up for election in 2016. So, theoretically at least, we the people could unscrew this mess.

If they’re that stupid, they deserve to be sent packing anyway.

Agrred - I would assume they make the "complaint" about being lied to so they have some "cover" for doing the wrong thing. Most of them are so adept at lying to their constituents that i find it hard to believe they aren't aware that they will lie to each other too - especially Boehner and his groups of Pelosi/Reid ringass kissers.

Although I don’t like to concede the outcome before the contest is even joined, you are probably right that, in the end, he will remain Speaker. But I think we are in approximate agreement that any deals on things that are important to Boehner had to be made now while he has firmer control of the House and has a deal-minded partner in sourpuss Senator Reid.

That, as you note, is going to change in January. By passing the 2015 omnibus budget bill now he has taken away the “power of the purse” tool from incoming conservatives for at least a few months. I suspect he hopes to have gotten them under control using the committee chairmen by the time the 2016 Fiscal Year is being developed.
