It is time to stop thinking of John Boehner and the rest of the Republican congressional leadership as being cowardly and recognize them for what they are: part of The Ruling Class that believes it has the right to tell the rest of us how to live.
Since conservative voters handed a majority in the House of Representatives to the Republican Party in 2010, there have been countless missteps and opportunities to stop Democrats. It began with that first lame duck session when Republicans gave Obama some victories that eventually boosted his popularity and washed away the memory of the landslide victory that had just occurred the month before. Among these “accomplishments” was the dubious START, a missile treaty that one could argue emboldened Vladimir Putin.

Boehner is picture of what is wrong with government.
No argument from me.
Two years ago, it was the supposed conservatives who voted to re-elect Boehner as Speaker that were what was wrong with government. It only would've taken 17 (approx.) supposed conservatives to stop him. Anyone who votes for him this time will be the problem. If they can't get Boehner out of the Speaker position, there is no future.
Just b/c he is a slimy dirtbag doesn’t mean he should go. Obviously, the majority of GOP congressmen are just like him, since they voted with him.
He is a traitor.
He has hurt our nation in ways too large to fathom. It will be years before his treasonous damage can be undone.
When he is tried and convicted for his crimes I vote for the capital punishment.

I could understand an emotional response by Behner to attaining the defeat of Pelosi. What instantly bugged me about Behner was his admission that his emotional response was about John Behner. About his career.News flash, John - the Speakership of the House of Representatives does not exist to provide a business opportunity for someone to reach the pinnacle of his profession. It exists to get things done - or at least, failing that, prevent bad things from happening on behalf of the American People.
I recommend that, failing a primary victory over him, Republicans in his CD vote Democrat to unseat him. One Congressman more or less won’t matter nearly as much as the principle of service, not entitlement.
Agreed! He actually needs to switch parties.

I'm not sure, who do think would be a worthy replacement?
Obviously, anyone from the Capitol facilities management crew would likely be better than Boehner by orders of magnitude (no offense to the facilities folks).
The desperate side of me says I don’t care, as long as it’s not Boehner. But Gowdy or Gohmert, if we could spare either for speaker, would not be bad choices.
