Is Now the Time for a Second Political Party?
Canada Free Press ^ | 01/02/15 | Jim Yardley

Posted on 01/02/2015 9:14:05 AM PST by Sean_Anthony

We see, on a daily basis, that the current Democrats and the current Republicans are by-and-large nothing more than opposite faces of the same coin

No, my friends, the term “second political party” is not a typo. It is not an error. It is not a misstatement. The cooperation afforded to that tall, slim fellow who lives in the White House by those who call themselves Republicans can hardly be viewed as the behavior of what one would normally be referred to as the “opposition party.”

There are a lot of ordinary citizens who object strongly to the idea of a third political party, but these very same people are also complaining that there is little-to-no difference between today’s Democrats and Republicans. Perhaps it’s time for these very same conservative voters to recognize (and admit publicly) that our nation is being controlled by what is in fact a single party of elitists who simply exchange their roles every few years to continue their joint efforts to maintain the illusion that we, the common voter, control our own destinies.

Does this situation really illustrate a “workable” political system? Really?

Well, if people cannot hold the people they vote for to account, the only thing you will get with another political party is momentary novelty. I think we have forgotten how to get out into our communities and to function as part of a neighborhood, town, state, country. Until we correct something fundamental on this level we are left to the tender mercies of our elites.

Like I said when it came for voting for John Cornyn,
Who do I vote for?
The lying democrat or the lying democrat that says
he’s a conservative republican.

We all wished that the republicans would use the same
lying scams against the democrats the way they do to us.
Well they did only they don’t use it against the democrats
they use it against us.

If the republican party is anything it’s a lying false sense hope in league with the continuous march to socialism.

It will never happen ... the uninformed masses (the majority) will have no clue why we need a new party

We don’t need a new party, since the U.S. has about 40 parties, including about 15 parties who are more conservative than Republicans. Within the past 14.5 years, I’ve voted for five Constitution Party candidates.

There’s a substantial probability that Hillary Clinton may score the third Clintonian plurality win for POTUS.

>> if people cannot hold the people they vote for to account

How exactly would that be accomplished? By re-electing them and their organization?

It’s time to remake the old one.

I think the time has come. I will never leave my house to vote for the likes of a Bush.

Thank you for referencing that article Sean_Anthony. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Clever crooks long ago figured out that it was smarter to get themselves elected as a federal lawmakers and make constitutionally indefensible tax laws to rob people’s money, as opposed to breaking into people’s homes and robbing banks for a living.

In other words, being a federal lawmakers is all about chasing the tsunami of illegal federal taxes to DC.

On the other hand, consider the following Supreme Court clarification of Congress’s limited power to lay taxes.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

The bottom line is that patriots need to work with their state lawmakers to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment and put a stop to all federal taxes which corrupt Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

By getting out into our neighborhoods and building the sort of communities our grand-parents and great-grand-parents used to.

The problem is any party that can win elections will quickly become more interested in winning elections than whatever ideology it waves around. A new party would help for a while, but in short order it would join the others.

There are at least two factors that limit the success of second parties:

Of the 15 parties who are more conservative than Republicans how many are on the ballot in all states

and

Republican rank and file who suffer Stockholm Syndrome

Repealing the 17th is not sufficient to undo all the damage that the 17th has occasioned but is necessary if that damage would be repaired.

"Repealing the 17th is not sufficient to undo all the damage that the 17th has occasioned but is necessary if that damage would be repaired."

Good point.

Parents must also start making sure that their children are taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood.

Yes, and the media filters the masses information. The majority will never have a clue.

That’s why it is time for a new political party to emerge.

Sure.

The TExAs Party. ©

It can lead the nation back to success with proven conservative principles.

Proven right here in Texas.

A clear majority of people, 52% according to latest polling, are opposed to the Healthcare Reform act, yet here we limp along divided and dispirited despite the fact that an abiding and clear majority are steadfast in their opposition. So what are we missing as unpopular policies are foisted upon the majority by a vocal and committed minority? We are not the same country we used to be, we are fragmented with everyone at each other’s throats. What we need to do is to rebuild neighborhood communications. We need to meet together face to face, take up local issues together, and find common ground. Only when we do that and stop accepting frustration and learned helplessness as our lot in life will we be able to fire these useless SOBs and put things right.
