OK, what's Walker's downside?
OK, what’s Walker’s downside?
Written before reading the rest of the comments. Valid concerns about amnesty and homosexual “marriage”. Appears good on the second amendment.
Protecting and preserving our constitutional freedoms is one of the most important things a governor can do. The Bill of Rights forbids the government from infringing on the freedoms unique to America, but that hasnt deterred politicians who want to treat the Second Amendment as optional and strip us of the right to keep and bear arms. I will fight these attempts to get around the U.S. and Wisconsin Constitutions and I will strive to protect our rights today and for future generations. Scott Walker
We should not focus on a single issue as a disqualifier, with the exceptions of abortion and the Constitution.
Walker is definitely pro-amnesty, path to citizenship. http://www.ontheissues.org/Scott_Walker.htm#Immigration
Endorses path to citizenship for immigrant workers. (Jul 2013)
Make it easier to enter the country legally. (Jul 2013)
2010: stop suspected illegals; 2012: that’s a distraction. (Jul 2013)
Supports AZ’s immigration law and no benefits for illegals. (Jul 2010)

A lot of our FRiends are single-issue folks, my-way-or-the-highway. There will never be a perfect candidate, and we should not reject out of hand folks with whom we agree 80-90-95% of the time, except on non-negotiables like abortion and the Constitution.
That’s why we have these discussions. It helps us to determine what is fact and what is opinion. I like Cruz better than the alternatives so far, but am less familiar with Walker.
