Leaders lead. They speak out when it’s necessary. They don’t wait for approval from the likes of Obama.

I’m sure Congress is tired of being lectured by Reid, McConnell, Boner, Pelosi and Bammy. Time to try something new.

Foreign policy is the domain of the executive branch under the Constitution.

And making law is under the Legislative branch under the Constitution.

ENFORCING the law is under the Executive branch but he choses NOT to enforce it.

He won’t be “lecturing” anybody.

He will be presenting Israel’s case for security and survival.

If we’re to start limiting speeches before congress, I suggest we start by banning the lies and pandering by Obama.

Why does he call it “lecture” here in a clearly negative way.? He is speaking to Congress.

It is not a matter that really involves Congress, particularly the House which does not vote on treaties or foreign appointments

The Speaker of the House is 2nd in line to the presidency.

The House initiates all fiscal bills.

The House shares the responsibility to declare War.

Lecture?! Srsly?! Leo, you need to read Alan Dershowitz, a liberal Democrat who twice campaigned for President Barack Obama.

Under the Constitution, the executive and legislative branches share responsibility for making and implementing important foreign-policy decisions. Congress has a critical role to play in scrutinizing the decisions of the president when these decisions involve national security, relationships with allies and the threat of nuclear proliferation.

Congress has every right to invite, even over the president’s strong objection, any world leader or international expert who can assist its members in formulating appropriate responses to the current deal being considered with Iran regarding its nuclear-weapons program. Indeed, it is the responsibility of every member of Congress to listen to Prime Minister Netanyahu, who probably knows more about this issue than any world leader, because it threatens the very existence of the nation state of the Jewish people.

It is Congress' job to hear the voice of our only true friend and ally in the Middle East if the potus won't do it.

You are very right. Sometimes I think in the end the House is the most powerful branch, because of $$$.

Since Obama has been President, the following foreign leaders have lectured Congress:

Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine

Lee Myung-bak, President of Republic of Korea

Binyamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel

Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Australia

Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, President of Mexico

Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany

Gordon Brown, Prime Minster of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Ultimately Netanyahu’s speech isn’t going to change much.

Depends on what he says. What if he says that he WILL bomb the nuclear facilities if a deal is struck? What if he says the will if they think a deal is about to be struck?

What if he calls out Obama as a nincompoop in plain language?

I think there is a reason Obama really wants to muzzle him.

“Leaders lead. They speak out when it’s necessary. They don’t wait for approval from the likes of Obama.”

Which is why I tend to doubt the threats alleged to obozo with respect to shooting down Israeli planes. Bibi would have gone right ahead and A. Obviated the Iran threat and B. Let obozo hang himself.
