Nothing against Cruz but O’bastard has set the bar pretty low. It is on the floor actually.

Mace, isn’t Cruz for amnesty?

And is that not a deal breaker, as you said?

Barack Obama has been enormously successful if you were part of his worldview. All those calling him bumbling spend most of their time fending off his attacks on our system. But, he is doing exactly as he believes. He wants to destroy our system. He is succeeding at it.

Lincoln had zero experience.

Clinton was a chief executive of a state, but he, too, destroyed the social fabric of our nation.

The Chief Executive Job is about PRINCIPLES that the President implements through his administrative appointments.

Besides that, Cruz has an extensive and impressive resume in the legal world.

McNeil writes like a polite liberal. I would guess he is an educated black man who isn’t blinded by the DemoRat rhetoric and realizes the failed experiment golfing out of the WH was a very bad vhoice borne of emotionalism instead of logic.

Short answer is anyone with any gray matter inside their skulls sees right through the Manchurian plant and realizes he was a horrible choice for America. He is,without a doubt, the worst president in U.S. history. He attempted to change the type government we have, destroy the Constitution and remove The People’s ability to defend themselves from tyrants. He aided and abetted our enemies and continuously lied to us about who he was and what his intentions were going to great lengths to deceive us.

I don’t think you will have any problems like this with Cruz if you review his background, history and actions. He does what he says he will and isnt a pathological liar who golfs all day leaving everyone else to do the work. That’s good enough for me, McNeil.

Yes, we can always fall back on Cruz having the right principles.

Rather than being a fall back position, to me this is absolutely paramount. Without the principles of God, family, constitutionally limited government and other bedrock conservative positions, any President (regardless of credentials or party affiliation) would fail to represent me and my dreams for our country.

Just my two cents worth.

“though he had written the speech himself”

That is where the folks run off the track.

It was not a speech.

It was a direct talk to the people who were really listening.

It was bullet points and never a constructed speech.

It flowed from his heart to our ears.

Something our elected officials KNOW NOTHING about.

They are con artist and think it is a con.

I’m not worried about what kind of president he’d be. I’m worried about whether he can get enough votes in this nation so infested with publicly educated moochers.

I just took it as shallow, unoriginal and formulaic...spouting what he’s heard on this cable or read in that column.

“. . . every single child, regardless of race, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of wealth or ZIP Code, every child in America has the right to a quality education.” -Ted Cruz

For a man intent on following the Constitution, the quote above leaves me wondering whether Ted Cruz knows the difference between a “right” and a “privilege.” The masses are asses when it comes to this distinction, and until they are both educated and curbed in regard to their appetites they will do little more soil their land of liberty. I would expect a Constitutional scholar to disabuse others of false ideas by using “rights” language with caution.

Hell yes, he’d make a good President. The question is, will a now center-left America give him that chance? Most likely, no, but his willingness to put himself forward and make his case is admirable.

Easy question : An unqualified yes. He’d be one of the best presidents we ever had. Certainly a vastly superior one to the utter disaster we have in the White House today.

Mace, isn’t Cruz for amnesty? And is that not a deal breaker, as you said?

I have not seen that he is for amnesty. He has been very clear about supporting legal immigration. He has said unequivocally that he thinks the most urgent priority is to get control of the border, and I do agree about that. When your boat is sinking, you have to focus on first stopping the leaks. And then you can do the bailing out.

I do think he will enforce the existing immigration laws, meaning that ICE will no longer be neutered.

If you have any evidence that Cruz is for amnesty, I would seriously be grateful if you would enlighten me.

From checking his posting history, I would have to conclude that McNeil is this forum’s AntiCruz.

Mace, I’m pinging Liz and Nine to this, because they have the data on another thread.

Folks, the question posed is, does Cruz support amnesty (as in granting citizenship to illegals already here)?

Dude, check the smelling salts. Cruz has probably been THE leader in the Senate against Obama’s executive amnesty.
