In California 35% of all adults are on Medi-Cal and 50% of all children are covered by Medi-Cal. This is made possible by $40 billion per year of federal contributions to the state. Local hospitals have to take the Medi-Cal patients but the reimbursement rate does not cover costs. Illegals still get covered for free when they show up at the emergency room. Doesn’t seem very sustainable to me.

More important than the best healthcare is the destruction of the world's absolutely finest healthcare delivery system.
The progressive notion that a centrally planned government controlled healthcare delivery system is superior to America's market based healthcare delivery system will be the root of healthcare’s future problems, which will be many and unending.
