Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Clinton Team Up to Convince Women to #Ask4More

By Robert Kessler

Powerhouse feminists like Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Clinton, and Sheryl Sandberg have joined together with the Levo League to convince women to know their worth and to battle unequal pay in advance of National Equal Pay Day on April 14.

Women are, on average, paid 78 percent of what their male counterparts are. In the video for Levo, Sarah Silverman recounts her experience with this statistic.

Yup, anything to put the final nail in the traditional family’s coffin and promote more Mammon worship.

Well, on this issue, I feel they’re not really off the wall. If I work alongside my male colleagues and meet the standard or go beyond it, earn their respect, etc., why shouldn’t I be paid the same? The issue comes up again and again - why not fix it? If I don’t deserve it, don’t do it. If I do, show me the money!!

Chelsea is a powerhouse feminist? LOL, well if her mommy says she is, I guess it becomes true even if it's an obvious joke. And billionaire Sheryl Sandberg is going to commiserate with women who don't make enough money? :snort: And hey, nothing like telling women to feel cheated and poor the day before Tax Day - after all, women are the only ones who have to pay taxes, right? So it's a perfect day to hate men (but then these are "powerhouse feminists" so any day is a perfect day to hate men). That's why they have a comedienne in the bunch - she's the only one who gets the joke.

I have heard the 78% statistic for some 40 years.

How about updating it to include womens’ income from welfare, or womens’ income among lawyers and Hollywood moguls?

Amen I feel the same way about it. This has nothing to do with feminists issues like abortion. I feel if 2 people doing the same work. One happens to be male and the other female. Why not pay the same, doesn’t make sense to pay one more than the other. Just me =)

If. If. If.

IF it's true, how would you verify it? IF it's true, how would you "fix" it? I mean, other than free market competition, because you're obviously not satisfied with that solution to your theoretical worries.

So tell me, how WOULD you have the government get more involved in these theoretical issues? What WOULD you have the government do? Right now, the government is telling Christians what parts of the Bible are legal in the workplace. How about they simply move in and tell companies how much to pay women? Would that be enough? Or do you want more? Should no new companies be formed until there are equal numbers of male and female CEOs? What? After all, competition is out - what are the new government control rules?

Wow two women who are paid 98% more than they are worth telling other women to ask for more, seems legit. Maybe Chelseahorse should start by asking mom and dad about that equality for women thing.

I’m shocked, shocked Chelsea Clinton never got paid more than 78% of what a man did.

All of the places that I worked at, the pay rate for each position was the same whether you were male or female.

I don’t think this ‘claim’ that women are not paid the same is true. It think it occurs mostly among the ruling elite. The ones that complain the most seem to be the ones that don’t pay equally regardless to ‘sex’ when it comes to ‘their’ employees.

Oprah’s income alone should offset the stats for all women to the + side.
