So this morning, while rinsing out the carafe of my Black & Decker coffee maker, I accidentally banged it against the side of the sink, cracking it. Frustrating, but no big deal. Go to WalMart.com..find out I can buy a replacement for $9.87. But then I noticed that I can buy a whole new machine..INCLUDING carafe..for $17.88. Yup..digital, programmable, auto-brew..with a two hour automatic shut-off. Which got me thinking....
I have a non-Keurig K-cup machine. The trick with K-cup machines, is to either use a reusable K-cup, or use one of the affordable non-Keurig alternative brands.
I use San Francisco Coffee Company’s “Fog Chaser” as my usual cup. They don’t HAVE a K-cup, they have a sealed ring-and-bag combo. . .

Recently I broke our OLD small drip style coffee maker. IIRC it was B&D. I’d like a new one but have been using the filters in a sieve and pouring boiling water into that and a small pan.
Works great.
But there’s the automatic thing that I miss so I’m looking for something new. NOT a Kerig or fancy thing but a plain old coffee maker.
Even considered getting a perk style but mrs p6 nixed that...sigh.
Chemex, for the win.
That, or an old Starbucks Barista espresso maker. Find in Ebay cheap.
I agree with the principle of Bialetti (see above). But in comparison of Mocha Pot to Mocha Pot, the Tescoma above is superior, IMHO. I’ve had Bialetti parts break. Next time, give Tescoma model a try. All the parts are stronger.
I use a DeLonghi electric drip coffeemaker. I grind my own beans every day and have found that the brand consistently makes a great cup of coffee.
We have one of these. It’s our fallback for power-out situations.
I use a Zojirushi which is more expensive than the ones you listed, but it is the best drip coffeemaker I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it for 10 years and it is still like new (I only use filtered water in it). I liked it so much I bought a second one to use at the office several years ago. Like you, I grind fresh for every pot I make.
I use a Nespresso and the latte foamer for espresso-based coffees. It is also a fantastic machine, but I only drink espresso occasionally.
No more coffee makers with a glass carafe. They break and you can’t find a replacement. I don’t drink coffee but the wife does and so I got her a percolator. We are on our second one in like 20 years. Plus it tastes better
For a drip machine that makes multiple cups, I’ve been using a Bonavita 8-cup model (BV1800) for the past 4/5 years. Simple machine. Excellent results.

Buy a replacement carafe at a thrift store for a couple bucks.
I use an IKEA French press. Works like a charm.
I have what is probably the same Mr. Coffee that Attention Surplus Disorder (love this name!) has. I got it at my local hardware store for under $20. No bells, no whistles, just decent coffee in about 5 minutes.I’ve had my machine for about 3 years and it’s still working well.
I also like Bunn machines but they’re around $100 or so bucks.
I have a Cuisinart drip coffeemaker. I can’t see spending all that money for Keurig cups and I like drip coffee better since I can control the strength.
I am a coffee fanatic, and I do use a single serving brewer. I don't expect that to change for me.
Different strokes for different folks.

I used up some American Express points on a DeLonghi which has a flip-forward water thing. I have had it for about 7 years now and I like it.

i agree... i use a pretty basic KRUPS that i received in 1995 at my bridal shower... still works... run vinegar through it every now and then... going on 20 years!
