That reminds me, when her money gets scarce at the end of a pay period, my youngest daughter visits Mom’s store and pays me back the next payday.

SGM. Harper was one of the wisest man I ever met. He had a saying “You adapt, you overcome, you kill, and you conquer.”

It is not that hard to prepare for a disaster in terms of supplies and equipment. The hard part is the mental preparation. If the shtf are you ready for all the death. My dad is a diabetic, he won't make it. An ear infection can be deadly without proper meds, kids will die. After a while your pet dog will start to look tasty, and by golly he will just fit on the grill. Dagnabit, your mother in law is just dead weight, opps you forgot to feed her all last month. Don't forget all the complaining and nagging you will get 24/7. I'm not worried about my survival, but my wife is not cut out for long term survival, she was hard to put up with after the hurricanes. Your neighbor grabs a knife and a bottle of wine every time he sees you, and he wants you for dinner. Hey, what is that smell? Don't look at me I took a bath just last month. Your daughter cries all the time for candy crush. Yeah survival is easy.

My Mom had an answer to whiny kids or adults too for that matter. “People in H3ll want ice water too, but they ain’t it, gettin’ it and neither are you. So just sit down and make do.”

If they wait until the day the economy collapses, by the time they get to the bank there won’t even be pens left to steal.

The title should be ten things you should know before posting a blog story to FR.

1. Beware of the blog police. Post the entire damned story or be hounded to death.

#5 is pretty much crap.

In the event of an “economic collapse” the last thing the banks are going to do is foreclose on your home. They will put a lien against it.

The reason is that in the event of such a collapse the market will be flooded with real estate. The bank would not be able to sell it. So, they will come to you with a deal: Maintain the house, accrue interest, and they slap a lein on the property. In the last time around, my neighbors went two years before the bank foreclosed.

In such a collapse, everyone is in the same boat. They will work with you in order to avoid having to take a huge loss.

She was a pretty woman, and also quite a character. She passed away at the age of 79 in 2000. God rest her soul.

Thank you. All of my nuclear family are gone now except for a half sister, but the kids, grand kids, and great grand kids are popping out all over. LOL That helps a lot. Marcella and I have decided to be adopted sisters and that helps every day in every way. ((Smiles)).
